As much as I love Noriko, while she easily has enough hotblood and guts to match Ryoma, I don't think that she's a singularly fantastic pilot.

Once she actually gets into Gunbuster, it's more about her having the guts to do what must be done rather than the skill, given the machine's capabilities.

He went easy on Destiny and Legend. Providence + Druggies were the only guys he actually aimed to kill, and even then you can't quite be sure about the Druggies.

To begin with, the Druggies were better pilots than even Shinn and Ray. They just had a time limit and they got progressively less skilled and more fucked up.

Ridden made Yazan shit his pants in his side manga. Paptimus is implied to be better pilot than Yazan in Zeta. Seabook was better than Uso was in Victory majority of the time within his first sortie in F91 and he got a decade of experience afterwarrds. He beats down three experienced pilots without arms in Crossbone among other things. Tobia is roughly his equal. Char stalemated Amuro for most of their fight in CCA.

Why do people keep saying this? The Sazabi outright has power problems. Its beam tomamhawk loses power during a prolonged battle against the Nu Gunadm and it's literally the reason why Char loses the final battle. The moment his melee starts to fail he loses.

Chars sazabi is commonly held as a better weapon because the nu was deliberatly a rush job and because the sazabi simply has more abilities.

Being a better pilot than kamille isn't sufficient to beat him, and even then scirocco was basically stalemating kamille with the O despite the zeta not being as advanced.

You and I both know that seabook's two person kill was pure luck since he was only aiming at one person and he did not expect the VSBR piercing skills. The best trick seabook pulled in F91 was the way he used the afterimages, which is nice but not sufficient.

Uso's fight fight with the mobile worker (ep 23) is him struggling not to take the multiple chances to kill his oponents and damaging the space colony, but he nonetheless managed to disarm him and infiltrate zanscare anyway. The second time was him being ambushed while trying to escape, in a confined space.

As to johnny ridden, how many pages do we have of him fighting in the manga again?

His beam tomahawk wasn't losing power, it just wasn't as powerful as the Nu's large beam saber. Which was deliberately built to be more powerful than standard - hence the large in the name. The only other moment of power issue he has is the mega beam cannon in the waist failing, which is because Amuro cut one of the power cords using a beam saber strike. The Sazabi doesn't have issues powering anything.
