So I keep seeing people mad about Amuro being hesitant about going back to war in Zeta and scared of going into space again. I'd like to remind you that he never volunteered for the OYW and it brought him nothing but misery and pain.
Let's review:
-Accidentally gave his father brain damage and saw the results.
-Watched his first crush get killed
-Accidentally killed a girl he was in love with later
-His mother thinks he's a monster now
-Suffered child abuse from his superior officer.
-And let's not forget everything else traumatizing about being a child solider!
Hmmm, you ever think maybe, just maybe, he had reasons for not wanting to go back to killing people or risking his life again? And that maybe the One Year War kind fucked him up in the head a little bit? Fuck, I'm more than a little surprised that peer pressure was somehow enough to get him to do it again.
