Compared to the last two stages, this one was more by the numbers.

We start off with our resident villains making their usual evil plans to deal with our heroes. Moving on to something more interesting, Kouta gets a visit from Volfogg who states that he's from GGG and wants to talk to him. The pair go off on their own and Volfogg takes the child underground. Our GGG representative starts inquiring about Exkaiser in a rather aggressive tone however, Exkaiser himself shows up to stop the questioning.

The pair have a discussion that's cut short but the appearance of some Geisters. When you defeat the singular Geister with Rakers and Max Team, the Geist Quartet will deploy their trap which binds the pair together.

Volfogg and Exkaiser will deploy with the intention of stopping the Geists from killing the trapped Braves. However, in the middle of Exkaiser's combination, King Roader will get destroyed preventing the King Exkaiser combination. Taking advantage of Exkaiser's inability to combine, the 4 Geisters combine into one super beast. They then try to attack the pair but end up failing to hit Volfogg.

Their mess up with Volfogg causes the Combined Geist to crash into the Raker/Max Team and free them from the trap. The combination is force purged and Volfogg calls a ride to get Exkaiser and himself out of there.

Our heroes and the Raker/Max Team fight off the Geisters with the aid of some Federation Soldiers. One soldier who gets damaged mid battle heads into the Freeden to get some repairs, however this was just a trick for him to steal Tifa.

After the battle, the Raker Brothers and Max Team tell us all about Exkaiser before leaving and we find out that Tifa got stolen by the Federation.

Chapter 23 is another short one.

This Chapter starts out with Jamil revealing that he found out that Tifa's in space. He then tells the surprised Garrod that he made some arrangements with Vera and that they're going to send said Garrod up to space to rescue Tifa.

Our team heads to a launch point and puts both Garrod and the DX in a shuttle. Mechasauruses show up and we fight them off.

Once time's up, Mechasaurus Dai will try to rush and blow up the shuttle, however Jamil decides to suicide the Freeden in order to stop the warship sized Mechasaurus.

The Freeden crew makes it out okay and we have the newly revived Emperor Gore showing up to go on about his plans to take over the world for the Dinosaurs.

Chapter 24

In response to Gore's revival, Hayato and Igor decide to tell us all about the true nature of Getter and the Getter Rays. Additionally, they tell us about Shin Getter Robo, the peak of the Getter Robo project that was sealed away over in the Saotome Labs.

General Bat decides to attack the labs in order to prevent Shin Getter's activation as he fears that its revival will wreak havoc on the Dinosaur Empire. We form two groups, one with the Go, Hayato and the martial artists who'll infiltrate the labs, save the professor and rescue Dr. Saotome, and everyone else lead by Jamil who'll act as bait.

After defeating the first round of foes, a bunch of Proto Getters lead by Neon will appear. Meanwhile over in the labs, our heroes rescued Professor Saotome from Bat and rush for Shin Getter's location. After defeating Neon, a bunch of Proto Getters will re appear in the same location, meanwhile Ryouma shows up to stop General Bat from interfering with Shin's activation.

Go tries to activate Shin to no avail, however Grahf shows up and gives him a little power to start up the machine. Fei asks Grahf about his angle in the situation and Grahf leaves some cryptic words before leaving.

Outside, the newly activated Shin, destroys the entire Proto Getter army, however its out of control so we have to weaken it a bit. Fei asks Go, if that's the limit of his abilities and will, and the other two Getter pilots call out to him. Go gets his stuff together and then we get proper control over Shin.

Bat sorties with the remaining Mechasauruses and we defeat him and his army. In an act of desperation, Bat will try to suicide on Shin only to get destroyed by its Getter Beam.

After the battle, King Gore declares his plans to take over to world, so our team has no time to waste.

That's part of why I worry, actually.

When R got shafted in OG II - ostensibly either because the staff forgot it or because they didn't care for it and wanted to make space - it had a fanbase who complained very loudly, and would probably be extraordinarily mad if the original Excellences don't get into OGMD. This is in part because of its original fanbase, and in part because its appearance in OGG drummed up a new fanbase who liked the Eternal and Lightning.

If they fuck GC up here? No one is going to care. No one cared about GC before, and they're going to keep right on not caring, and inevitably in some future game we'll have the Soul Rescue that the entire cast gets shunted into, and no one will ever complain. And when the cast is already getting limited and hamstrung by licensing issues... GC was my favorite SRW, and I really, REALLY do not want to be there to watch it just completely fall off the face of the Earth again.

I always wished that instead of Z2, the game was called like, I don't know, SRW Y or something, with just the Z2 new stuff and maybe a couple of Z1 titles that didn't look suspicious, and Orguss to enable dimensional shenanigans. It mostly does its own thing, with only a couple of Z1 returnees thrown in (but they're there for the whole story, not just dumped in halfway through part 1) that show up early, on and off, confused as all hell and no one else knows why until the end, when Z and Y finally start merging together into something horrifying. Keep most of the OG plot but don't even mention Spheres until the very end; some people just power up freakily and the main cast doesn't know why.

This probably wouldn't fool the players at all, or at least for long, but at least there would be SOME plot to unravel.

There were several others (for example, some of the trans-am attacks had pretty drastic changes in choreography depending on the terrain, as did some of Gunleon's attacks), as well as a lot of attacks that had less major changes but still changed in some way.

This checked out (while the conditions on gamefaqs are not), I verified when I played the game early this year.
Only the stages 29 et 30 requirements are needed, which are "do not shoot Katejina or Chronicle down on stage 29", attack Katejina and Chronicle on stage 30, convince Katejina then Chronicle in that order. Be aware that Chronicle's skills that you upgrade yourself are active in the next run as enemy, just like Gabil and B.D.. So you might as well do not upgrade or train them at all. Glacius, Katejina, Sibil... are fine though. Katejina is just too weak as NT, her unit is not useful.

Well without being tied to Z, they don't need to put more efforts for those extra 30 units. Since they don't need to build up shit, there's also no need to split up the game, just put a timeskip in the middle like UX.

The thing though is that late game, you're probably gonna gun for one turn clears so Gravion can essentially solo most scenarios by itself thanks to its six self-sufficient pilots, Shin Getter has Zeal, Aquarion has Zeal, and let's not even forget Turn A's ridiculousness with Amuro or Char (Char edges out just a bit thanks to Accel), Heero with his two MAPs, and Gurren Lagann's high damage output. And the other Dancouga is a bit better thanks to Shinobu having access to Zeal while Sara has access to Love, two very good spirit commands that are split between two people.

Meanwhile, Aoi has Valor and then Love? C'mon now.
