As a MG fan it pains me to say this but I find it unlikely that we are ever going to see another MG with a completely new frame.

Maybe, if we are lucky, one per year that is not a variant of an existing design.

Anything else will be RE:100 or non-grade like the IBO stuff.

It's a sad state of things for 1/100 builders but at least Bandai has been steadily upping their game in the HG line for years and the RG line is there and slowly building a decent roster for those who like the complexity and detail they provide

The HG and RG lines are beginning to get more and more lazy too. Graze after graze, another unicorn, the revive line, thunderbolt rereleases. While the new 00 quanta RG is missing a lot of the gimmicks from the MG iteration. As a whole bandai has REALLY dropped the ball this year with their lineups. I know the MG line has been hurting for 2 to 3 years now but as a whole the gunpla franchise is stating to feel really stagnant. The only current lines coming up with quality new products are the 1/100 IBO range and the RE/100 range.

What? They're exactly the same sans the Quantum Burst gimmick which you can probably replicate with a bit of creativity thanks to the inner frame. A great deal more stable too.

Sure seems like a better bet than the HG Neo Zeong was. I'd buy it in a heartbeat and they could reuse the parts for a repair version too.

I don't even think it's a question of engineering anymore, a few screws and maybe a handful of metal parts and it would be fine. Wouldn't be the first time an MG kit had that kinda stuff in it.
