My Uncle works for Bandai and the next Kamen Rider is Shin's son Jusan-rou who operates under the name Kamen Rider Mask. The series gimmick is disguises and his Mask Driver lets him take on appearance of other more conventional looking rider suits and gives more powers which are connected to different tiny masks that attach to the front of the belt. ToQGer was the show that got me into toku and collecting the toys because I love trains. Getting the DX stuff as the show was airing was one of the better things I've done, as looking at stuff now, especially how much trouble a lot of people have finding a drill express is surprising.
You'll have a blast with them though. Even Rainbow makes for a neat looking toy, even though it is just a slab.

The bigger companies, yeah. You really have to pester everyone on the chain to get an interview. The smaller companies are usually a lot cooler. Smaller teams are pretty tight nit but if you're creative and can impress the head of the design department with a strong portfolio, you've got a fighting chance. Many tell you that you need a degree, but really just need to be really good at the software. Half our team don't have engineering degrees but are pros at Z-Brush just the same.

One thing you may need technical training on is product design. It's not enough just to be able to create cool looking toys, you need to be able to figure out the internals as well. Where the parting lines go, where to mount pins and springs, building screw trees, place ribs for structural integrity, calculate material volume and reduce it where needed to save on cost, etc etc etc. It's a thousand times more impressive to design a plain boring toy that works and is easy to manufacture than it is to design a super flashy toy that can't actually be built in real life. The boring toy can be improved by the team, but the impossible toy will always just be an idea.

Well Fogg and Earth Spirit people were supposed to be "bee" looking humanoid aliens. They armed with weapons and armors (Rider) and were at war on that planet.
After the planet got nuked, some fled to earth, and the others joined the queen traveling in space. Both parties took different evolution paths. The queen party modified themselves to be more aggressive half mecha half bio kaijins, while the ones on earth becomes tree like things.
For J, they took the cue from Rider 1 ~ ZO (yes they all shares the same timeline) and made him grasshopper.

To be fair, they seem to have stopped with the Shocker variation stuff. Even the new Nova Shocker was just a splinter faction with the original Shocker also around.
