I'm mainly watching for the samurai dude, but I hate the main girl. She has only complained about everything (which is understandable but she doesn't do anything either) also she's pretty fucking stupid, even for a highschooler. They keep trying to make her look cute even when is a moment killer at times.

I heard this has one of the Darker than Black writers, which kind of explains why the opening has a DtB vibe to it. I'll keep watching but the ugly mecha and stupid main heroine are making it difficult.

It genuinely seems to be difficult for a lot of people on 4chan to understand that fictional characters with their own fictional backgrounds in a fictional setting will not behave exactly like the viewer would, if they were in their place, and that these characters will not have meta levels of knowledge of the world and how to act.
If characters don't act the way they would, they're automatically branded as retarded and poorly written (and I'm fairly certain it's way too early to tell for this show, given that it's two cour) - because we all know only witty "I would totally do this if I was in this setting!" self-inserts can be great characters, it's why garbage like Re:Zero and Overlord are so popular on 4chan, after all.

Y'know, I thought I was going to find MC extremely annoying and prefer Yukina as I was going into this... But I find that it's very much the opposite. Yukina is a terrible character, she is pretty stupid and retarded, just doesn't really interest me all that much outside of her likely connection to the princess from 450 years ago. Meanwhile, I actually kind of feel bad for MC. Everything must be so terribly confusing and frightening for him, and you could really feel his pain when he read about his clan being wiped out and forgotten.

And the action we've seen so far has been very solid, imo.
