Frankly, i love the rebuilds. Knowing that Anno would fuck it up this badly despite being the original creator proves a show like EVA is the production of an entire culture itself, and not that of its creator.

The more the Rebuilds are shit, the more the originals shine in comparison. Just a bit annoying 3.33 was so bad no 4.44 is physically possible.
