Hell, Haruto wasn't even a bad protagonist. Not the best, but he also failed to live up to his supposed reputation as a whiny bitch.

Not enough talking about how Shouko is a horrible human being who the writers for some reason expect you to like, and expect you to consider to be the love interest despite the fact that she and Haruto barely interact in the entire series.

The action was awful and the animation was stiff and lifeless, but it feels more like that's the fault of the non-existent choreography more than the animation because the models themselves are pretty competent.

The point is that I can't believe you spent years going on and on every day about how awful this was, not including the one guy who was drawing it out by making threads constantly, and yet it was just mediocre. I've seen worse in the last couple of years.

Valvrave is a show rife with duality. It squanders per-character development at times, but you can infer quite a bit about the cast based on how they all parallel one another.

Honestly, I dropped Valvarave after one episode and thought it was absolutely the worst thing I'd ever seen. But I just stopped watching it. It didn't really need to be part of my life and I didn't go out of my way to keep watching it just so I could keep bitching about it.

The Valvarager shit makes me feel obligated to kind of like Valvarave, because if a person that shitty hates it that much then it has to have had some redeeming value that I just didn't see at the time.
