Probably the best looking of average mecha shows with Enokido in charge of making his own Bizarro Evangelion. Some decent stuff, some not so good stuff. I'm rather surprised that this got such a lukewarm reception while MJP got such praise when they pretty much have the same strong and weak points. People who'll marathon this may have a better opinion of it in the end, the weekly experience was a drag.

I tried to come up with subs that wouldn't force people to watch the bottom of the screen all the time, I'm not sure how people watch their anime, close or from a distance so I tried to compromise. The DVD track is obviously for people watching from a distance and don't want to spend their times looking for the subs.

The ending and their fate is ambiguous as fuck. While the possibility that they could have escaped exists through the ability to use the Livlasters to entangle link, everything else points at them kicking the bucket, with PAC saying that Hana being a biopart of the ship Blume, and its destruction would mean her death.

despite being a huge advocate for Bones, especially after recently watching Star Driver. , I quickly lost interest with this series.
The first transformation, and the fire use of the core fighter was still some of the tightest shit I've seen in some time, were there any of notable webm worthy moments?

>force people to watch the bottom of the screen all the time

I never understood this line of reasoning. Can you not speed-read the entire line of subtitles at once? Do you read it word by word? Surely anyone with reading skills above the 3rd grade level would have no difficulty reading subtitles in their usual position at the bottom of the screen.

>The DVD track is obviously for people watching from a distance and don't want to spend their times looking for the subs.

I get your reasoning for this, but on the contrary, subs at the bottom of the screen are better for people who watch from a distance, like myself, because you see the entire image when you're watching from a distance, you don't have to move your eyes up and down. Having the subtitles higher up to the middle of the screen is a pain for me because it just covers up the screen. If you feel like you're looking at the bottom of the screen, my advice is just to sit back a bit and watch from more of a distance, and get glasses if you can't read it.

I don't know, I tried making a quick paint picture of what I think people mean by people who advocate dubs and such, because "subtitles make you focus on the bottom of the screen making you miss 85% of the visuals"
>>
>>14114961
>Can you not speed-read the entire line of subtitles at once?

Most people can't speed read.
>>
>>14114968

>>14114992
That's because children learn things fast as fuck. You can make them learn 7 languages at once no problem, but try doing that at the age of 30 and you'd ruin yourself before you even mastered basic dialogue for all of them.

There's a reason speedreading programs and merchandise are all aimed at kids.

Those serve a purpose to let you get to know the characters outside the action unlike CE which had pointless sequences of characters on the beach doing nothing without actually giving a shit.

>>
>>14115241
Not him, but in the TV airing they compressed it into a single sequence. they actually expanded them for the BD.

After that I think it only happens twice more at the mid point and before the finale. And iirc the animation is slightly different as well each time, Red 5 doesn't even launch with the rest of the rabbits. And in the second iteration they add Black 6.

I haven't seen CE yet, so I'll reserve judgement til then.

I'll look forward to the next* time Captain Earth is in a SRW game, the story just needs some ajusts and free/secret playable Kill-T Gang.

*It debuted in Card Chronicles shortly before the game itself close service.
>>

Did they even explain how the Kill-T Gang ended up in avatar bodies? One second they were chasing the Blume to Earth, the next moment people are experimenting on rainbow color kids.

I'm pretty sure that before the show aired someone posted pages of a magazine saying that the cubes ran out of energy while chasing Hana letting them fall to Earth harmlessly. Then they got experimented on and the avatars were created. Not sure how they got back to the Oberon though.

Entangle link. What I absolutely have no idea about is what the hell was going on with PAC being a control system for the Oberon. How did it get to Earth in the first place? Why the hell is it at MacBeth? The reveal at the very end seems like a last minute thing they came up with to explain how he got to the Oberon and also for us to forget that despite having his ego block blown up, it's core is still at MacBeth while he still possesses the CEO.
>>
>>14115488
Wouldn't doing an entangle link have caused a libido burst or whatever it was called?
>>
>>14115502
They'd need to be close to Earth for that. In episode one we see that the Ego Blocks are launched from the Cocoon in Oberon so the Kill-T-Gang being there makes perfect sense.

Akari was great even though her whole hacker act was pure writing convenience bullshit, Daichi was fine, Teppei was lacking a bit in the personality department but made up for it with consistent character development, There's no excuse for Hana who was a bland state whose main defining features were brown, tits, and starving for the D.

Zinbalt and Liban may as well not exist at all.
>>
>>14114506
Because MJP had a consistent cast that grew over the course of the series and further into the show everything fell into place. CE didn't know what it wanted to be and the characters grew early on so the growth was in the villains which was shallow and quickly discarded because other villains took the fore. Then the show rehashed the earlier development later in the series to give the illusion there was room for growth. The show got mired in its own loose threads. Even from a purely mecha standpoint, there weren't that many fights and many of the ones that were there were pretty lackluster.

CE was supposed to be a fixed Star Driver, but given the option to rewatch one, it would be Star Driver every time.

I just woke up from the weirdest dream, /m/. And I swear I haven't even finished the first season!

I was reading ANN or a similar site and they had an article that said Bones just confirmed a second season is in production. They posted a teaser trailer that had a short battle animation really similar to >>14114833 but this time they said it was all CGI, and it looked fluid as fuck, and the mechs had a grainy feel to them sort of like G-Reco. And the synopsis had some more Shakespearean references and it sounded really promising.
