So I'm not sure if any of you have noticed lately...

But the last 3 remaining Brave series just finished getting subbed almost completely under the radar.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJU9nuDxPTGnuX2WZriZVBg/playlists
https://www.youtube.com/user/Soreepeong/videos

Yes, it's on youtube. No, there aren't any torrents yet. But the subs are legit, and even include the OVAs and Drama CDs! Goldran, Exkaiser, and Dagwon all finished over the course of the past week.

Give these guys some props, and if someone can collect the sub files and remux them to raws for torrents that'd be even better.

April has been a really good month for mecha anime subs so far.
>>
>>14105372
Why do they upload to Youtube of all places?
>>
>>14105372
>April has been a really good month for mecha anime subs so far

How so, aside from this?
>>
>>14105376

No clue, I too found it very odd, but if it gives us completed series I'll take it and we'll figure out how to batch release it after the fact.

The guy who did Goldran/Exkaiser claims he's doing Gold Lightan next.
>>
>>14105388

3 Brave series, Victory Gundam BD rips, Beast Wars II gets fully subbbed, Gaiking TV gets licensed, ZZ and X official sets (part 2) get announced for July.

All within the past 8 days.
>>
>>14105372
>But the last 3 remaining Brave series just finished getting subbed almost completely under the radar.
Since when did Might Gaine have actual subs? Which is odd because Might Gaine is probably the 3rd best behind J-Decker and GGG.
>>
>>14105397

HKs are lousy, but they're still easier to follow than raws for a lot of people.

It needs resubbing of course, but many people have watched it with HKs.
>>
>>14105396
>Gaiking TV gets licensed
That was announced last year, this month we got the release date.
>>

Awesome, when will this be combined into torrents on BakaBT and Nyaa with all the other subs?
>>
>>14105397

>>14105416
Doesn't make them actual acceptable subs.
>>
>>14105435

When someone here takes the time to rip the subs and mux them and upload them.
>>
>>14105439

When it gets accepted to BakaBT with HKs, it may suck, but people will watch it.
>>
>>14105439

I tend to flip flop between those 2 series for some reason. Sometimes I feel like GGG better but sometimes I feel J-Decker is better, which actually is most of the time. It's probably because I recently beat BX I guess.

Subdivers did at least acknowledge this concern for Dagwon and will do a torrent release for that later on. I'm also excited for them doing Musashi Lord (Road), since that show has similar aesthetics to Iron Leaguer (which Silver Castle completed months ago).
>>
>>14105416
Silver Castle also said that, after Lightan, they maybe do Might Gaine.

I hope either of SC or Subdivers do NG Knight Lamune and the Eldorans.

I thought I should re-sub ep 1~16, since compared to c-m's release, the raws I have noticeably higher quality in both video and audio, despite it's coded in WMV9/wmapro and 300M each. After that, some karaokes will be added, and after some consistency checks, I'll compile the files and make a torrent.

One thing... does anybody know that if putting wmv into mkv container is a bad idea or not? Or should I encode them to h264?
>>
>>14105629
>only 90s unsubbed /m/ shows worth watching now
That can't be really be determined until all 90s /m/ shows are subbed though. Who knows how many are gems?
>>

Not sure, but I just want to say thanks for your incredible and unexpected efforts. Youtube may be an odd choice for a first release platform, but as long as you put it up elsewhere, you're doing this community an amazing service.

I also saw that you subbed the first episode of Ganbaruger just now. Very nice.

Started in 1989, therefor it's part of the 80s.
>>
>>14106106

Thank you. I will note that and update it.

The main point I wanted to make by posting this is that the majority of the 90s anime are now subbed. Only about 9 shows remain.
>>
>>14105376
Uploading anything to YT is an act of futility thanks to content ID.
>>
>>14105883
Cyber Formula was legitimately licensed and released as a box set. Didn't sell so well though.
>>
>>14106186
Not exactly true. I watched all of Tri-Zenon and Crush Gear Turbo on it. They weren't subbed, but they were pretty high quality raws.
>>
>>14106186

I agree that you can't expect stuff to stay there permentnatly, but whether or not something gets taken down depends exclusively on if the copyright holder cares enough to put the content into the ID filters.

So many lesser known shows can survive for years.
>>
>>14105629
>the only 90s unsubbed /m/ shows worth watching now.

Getter Robo Go, Tetsujin 28 FX, Red Baron... there's plenty of unsubbed 90s shows, at least a few of them have to be good.
>>
>>14106079
Only Red Baron's Italian dub is around, so it doesn't count. Also, Twinbee Paradise (1 episode), RPG Densetsu Hepoi (one episode), Wataru II (HK subs) and Chou Wataru (HK Subs) should be added.
>>
>>14105575
Hold on there, Majestic Prince movie? Nice, enjoyed the series.
>>
>>14107096
Not only that, but there's an OVA episode coming out after the TV show rebroadcast, as well.
>>
It's a good time to be a Brave fan! It'll be even better with Might Gaine finished up.
>>
>>14106245
The TV series was, not the OVAs. While 11 and Zero have legitimate fansubs, Saga and Sin are crabsticks only (in Saga case, REALLY bad crabsticks), Grafitti apparently had a sub but it's nowhere to be found now, Earlydays Reneval is raws only (I know that the last two are only compilations, but Grafitti has the Sugo team commenting on the clips a'la the recap episode of Dendoh, and Earlydays Reneval has a few original scenes thrown in, so I'd like them to be subbed as well). And then there's a crapload of audio dramas (about 30 different releases I think), a few of which are actually required to understand some scenes in Sin, and to my knowledge none of them is translated in English (there are summaries and/or Korean translations for some of them, though).

Fighbird was the show I was expecting to like the most because it has my favorite designs in the entire series and the most badass theme song, but of the ones I watched, it's the one I liked the least

It was bland and I could swear that there were some episodes where literally half the run time was stock footage. I'm surprised I finished it
>>
>>14123638

>>
>>14124006
Nice bullshit.
>>
I'd say that Exkaiser has a better opening than Fighbird.

I love the Yuusha shows, even though the first half of almost every episode is entirely skippable. Each ep is like... part 1: kiddy life stuff; part 2: super robot awesomeness!
>>
>>14124010
Sent another e-mail out for him today. No idea if he'll respond.
>>
>>14125093
I think it's Da Garn that has the best opening. Fighbird just has the most intense.

And I disagree. Most of the action in Brave shows is stock footage and hit flashes, except in GGG and sometimes Da Garn. It's not usually exciting. The first half of each episode can be pretty interesting though. Probably my favorite episode in the whole series is episode 6 of Goldran, where the trio of sixth graders visit a nightclub, gamble with the yakuza, make a getaway in a car with the country of the week's kid princess in a car (driven by one of said sixth graders) as the princess shoots at police officers with a shotgun. It's just as bizarre in context, trust me.
>>
>>14125093
Exkaiser's opening is best. Then Might Gaine, Da Garn, J-Decker, Gaogaigar, and Dagwon are debatable position-wise, then either Fighbird or Goldran depending on whether you consider the fact that Goldran's opening is actually pretty good to outrank the fact that the singer is nails-on-chalkboard tier for pretty much the whole song.

Not sure of my opinion of Baan Gaan's opening. Probably somewhere near the bottom of those middle ones.
>>
I used to think the chorus to Might Gaine's op went:
>GET AWAY
>IF YOU CAN
and that sounded really fucking cool.

I hate Exkaiser's OP. I'd put it somewhere at the bottom, not the very bottom, but somewhere near it.

Yuusha-Oh Tanjou (Mythology version), Heart to Heart and Arashi no Hero are easily top 3 in no particular order. Arashi no Hero sung by Endoh Masaaki is clearly the best one though.

>One thing... does anybody know that if putting wmv into mkv container is a bad idea or not? Or should I encode them to h264?
WMV is a shit format but you gain nothing from reencoding it. Just chuck the existing tracks into a new container with subs.

You can't put wmv in an mkv anyways, mkvmerge won't let you.

Don't worry, as I'll put two subtitle tracks, one with karaoke and one without karaoke.
