>>
>>14105509
there's a setting that turns parts into splinters
>>
>>14105515
Yeah, but Try didn't play on that setting. Model damage was restricted because it was the Under 18 tournament.
And that's a double-whammy of how Try fell behind GBF: the stakes were lower because it wasn't the big leagues. The only thing they were really putting on the line was Sekai's health.
>>
>>14104733
They fixed it on the blu ray jacket
>>
>>14105548
>Sekai's health
I still don't get this. Was it supposed to just be a placebo effect, or did it have to do with the particles?
Either way it seemed pretty stupid.
>>
>>14105553

What's even wrong with it?
>>
>>14105562
It was straight-up bullshit is what it was.
A state of mind created through autohypnosis wherein you become one with your gunpla. They didn't even blame it on the particles, it's just "BE THE BALL" taken literally. If you dislocate your shoulder in the game, you dislocate your shoulder in real life. But on the plus side you get unlimited free particles in exchange for risking your health and it totally isn't an unfair advantage because it's also child endangerment and that's inexplicably acceptable by the tournament officials. At least the old chairman being all shady would have explained the lack of intervention on Sekai's behalf, but with Yajima running the tournament specifically for kids it just didn't make sense that they were okay with him risking nerve damage to win a plastic model game.
>>
>>14105978
the particles come from the playsky crystal built into build burning
>>
>>14105991
Nope. Ral explains that it's from the assimilation, and later on Denial Gundam does the same mega-particle-bullshit without having an arista stone built into it. You just have to achieve the "clear like water" state of mind that triggers the SUPER MODE like G Gundam.
>>
>>14106010
>Ral explains that it's from the assimilation
Got a screencap? Because I don't recall it ever being explained like that. Just that it boosts performance through placebo effect.

>>14105991
The unlimited particles come from the fact that it has a perfected version of SBS's palavsky systems (Including the absorb system, which could passively absorb particles from the field around SBS). If it was just a small plavsky crystal in the torso it would have run out long before the series ended with all the huge attacks he was throwing around considering one around the size of Reiji's could only power a table for a few minutes.
>>
>>14104722

You haven't hung around many Gundam/mecha fans then.

/m/ has a fetish for mass produced grunt suits and the Zaku line is the poster boy for them.
>>
>>14104936
gundam softball?? now I've seen it all
>>
>>14106039
>>14106010

Also, the "Burning Burst" System that Try Burning (And in a near-identical technique the Denial Gundam) uses is not directly based on Assimilation, Sekai just uses it when he uses assimilation because it maximizes his power output. It's a technique that just releases a large amount of stored particles at once to boost the gunpla's power. Transient and the Full Cloth have similar systems as well and according to the manual that's why the Full Cloth needed to be recharged so much in its match.

>>
>>14106225

>>
>>14106187

>>
>>14106237
Kawaguchi is probably around 50 years old.
>>
>>14106225
BF takes place 35 years in the future from when it aired IIRC (Due to it being a series that celebrates the 35th anniversary of Gundam). Sei is too young in series to have been even born yet during its airing.
>>
>>14106270
Given that Meijin 2 is on his deathbed presumably from old age, I would think that it takes place around 50-80 years from now.
>>
>>14106278
>presumably from old age

We are never given an age or specific illness, just that he's too sick too continue as Meijin. He could be in his mid thirties like Ral for all we know.
>>
>>14105978
Assimilation had nothing to do with the Build Burning's infinite output. That just came from it having a perfected Absorb System.

What Assimilation actually does is let Sekai get around that little thing they call "training". Remember how much of a big deal BF S1 made about how you needed really good reflexes if you wanted to be able to pilot the fastest and most mobile kits? Assimilation lets Sekai skip all of that and immediately be capable of controlling his god tier gunpla perfectly.

All of those rounds Reiji spent against Fellini could have been avoided if he just magically became one with the Build Strike. Who the fuck needs hard work.
>>
>>14106342
Incidentally it can not be stated enough how fucking bullshit the Build Burning is. It has a perfected version of the Absorb System so it's constantly absorbing particles from the environment, giving it infinite fuel. It has a perfected version of the RG System so even at base it's more mobile than just about anything in existence. It has a perfected version of the Discharge System, so it can straight up manipulate particles to create whatever weapon (or thing) it wants at will. And if all that weren't enough, Sei built it so it almost certainly has a backpack port to make it even more ridiculous.

Like that one thread from a while back said, the moral of BF Try was that it's totally okay to cheat.

Of anything that could be said to be wrong with the handling of Minato, the Meijin's first look at Tryon 3 hit me the most.

Build Burning was meant for Reiji, and Sekai was using it for his own purposes. Try Burning was BB reconfigured specifically for Sekai's martial arts, so it could withstand the giant flaming chicken attacks he was so fond of spamming.

This entire retarded tangent started because one anon made fun of someone claiming GBF avoids "cliches", which it doesn't. You are literally that stupid and blind you can't see past that.

Even the last arc in GBF is pretty much the epitome of what constitutes generic and cliche heavy. Certain major attack spammed constantly? Obnoxiously obvious story twist where Mejin gets brainwashed in Aila turn to set up a dramatic final? Pretty much 101 with this sort of stuff.
>>
>>14107369
Reiji also started with ludicrously high piloting abilities, but even he had to put in the work to master piloting the Full Package and the Star Build Strike.

Sekai just gets the Build Burning and can immediately control it perfectly. Then he can just control it even better magically through Assimilation.

Don't even try and defend Sekai man, he was just a shitshow of a character.
>>
>>14107895

Well that's just a plain lie. Reiji was able to pilot it well enough to beat seasoned guys like Susumu who only had low level skill on a world stage but had to train only to beat pros like the Meijin and Fellini.

And Sekia could beat scrubs but had to train to beat better people. He trained differently, but he still trained. Why are you making stuff up to shit on him when you can do it without doing so?
>>
>>14107895
Trust me, there's so much awful shit about Sekai that you don't need to add things. The guy is shown right from the start to be a consummate martial artist and he's playing a game with motion controls using a gunpla built around punching. We even get a whole sequence where he studies the Build Burning's exact range of motion and how to adjust his stance and moves to match what it can do. The shitty part about Sekai is not that he's untrained, the shitty parts are that he's a harem lead, he's not terribly smart most of the time, he uses the same stock footage moves over and over because the director couldn't choreograph fights, he's using a stupidly overpowered gunpla for the level he's playing at and that he found in a box, he shows almost no interest in Gundam aside from singing Anime Ja Nai, so on and so forth. There's plenty to work with.
>>
>>14108009
Why do you consider doing martial arts on the side as training when literally every other the member in the cast trains differently? Reiji made an offhand mention back in S1 that Gunpla Battle was similar to martial arts, but it's not literally the same thing because the battle system isn't straight up the Mobile Trace system. We see other characters practice their aim, practice inputting controls, practice controlling their weapons, and do a bunch of mock gunpla battles.

Meanwhile the most we ever see Sekai do with gunpla is... be shit at using a beam spraygun? I don't think we ever actually see him train otherwise beyond him having a workout every day, and he never changes that routine up so you can't argue he was training harder or anything.

Like if the show had occasionally cut to him practicing with a sword or something to foreshadow him pulling a fire sword out of his ass that'd be one thing, but it doesn't. Instead it does stuff like "Junya randomly jumps Sekai, causing him to magically learn how to handle funnels" and "Sekai suddenly gains the ability to fire a phoenix from his hands". Nothing Sekai does in his workout maps to those.

And the original point was that Assimilation let Sekai just skip over training harder, anyway.
>>
>>14108040
Oh wait, I should probably clarify. I'm not saying that Sekai is straight up your classic Untrained Civilian That Fell Into A Cockpit, I'm saying he just gets to magically skip over all of the hard work Reiji did to push his already high skills further.
>>
>>14108040

Reiji was also using a different system made by a different company. The one Yajima built appears to transfer motion a lot more naturally and so Sekia's martial arts transfer and since he fights solely using martial arts rather than piloting skill and weapons, training in those is valid training for him. Same as it would be for Domon who also is a fighter and not a pilot.

While we do see other characters practice other skills, like aim, they mostly fight differently, and several other characters fight via martial arts like Sekai.

Assimilaton didn't let Sekai skip over training since he still trained. Just not as a pilot. Which is the point.
>>
>>14108077
I personally still disagree, since I think being able to immediately skip over the process of mapping martial arts training to pilot skills is pretty bullshit, but I see your point.

Let's just end the argument here.

They were try hard faggots and their gunpla was the only good thing about them.

> muh war

Don't care. Loosen up, have some fun or go home.

im pretty sure being a faggot is all sorts of wrong
>>
>>14109099

Did Meijin even decry what they had been doing?
>>
>>14109099
It wasn't the fact that they were using tactics and treating it like war, it was their douchey elitist attitude.

They were having fun.
But turns out their way of having fun is wrong. You're not allowed to roleplay war while playing a game based on a franchise made out of war stories.
>>
>>14109143

They never talked to anyone else, didn't interact in any way with them beyond sneering and only ever talked about their war and how they were the best. If they were role-playing for fun they were really committed to role playing shit-heads who didn't have any interest in other people.

Which isn't fun from my viewer perspective, so yes, they were doing it wrong and weren't threatening, interesting or fun.

Nah, he even said that they were hiding their true strength and he'd have to be careful. Who knows how far they would've gotten had the Meijin not knocked them out of the tournament right there.

Clearly not best girl if she lost to Bearguy

She didn't lose to a Beargguy. She lost to plot convenience.
