I have a vague memory of this show but I can't seem to remember what it is about. I only know there's a token "a member of the enemy race is one of the good guys"
>>
>>14089368
It's basically space Eurofront WW2
>>
>>14089368

It was surprisingly good for an American Saturday morning cartoon of that era. And the toys were pretty fucking cool.

Haven't revisited it since I was a kid because I'm sort of afraid of finding out it was shit.
>>
>>14089368

-The member of the enemy race was also the leader of the slave uprising ages ago before he was sold out by Space Judas

-Lots of genocide

-The space pirate leader is named Jonas Simbacca and looks like a lion in human form

-Matthew Marcus knew how to die

>>

wolf bronski was the shit. I used to love this show but senpai was poorfag so I could never get any of the cool toys. I wish these guys showed up in super robot wars even though it would probably be a nightmare to acquire the rights.

YOU DARE REFUSE MY BATCHAL?!

I still love that dumb cartoon
>>
so why was one of the members of the enemy race on the good guys
>>
>>14091208

Because "the enemy race" was a slave race (but superior physically and mentally) created by humens in outer space with science

He led the original revolt so that they could have rights, but he was always more of a peacenik than a genocide the humans kind of guy, who just wanted his people to be treated like people, but then he got betrayed and ended up being servituded again

The guy who betrayed him, his buddy, opted for total genocide of the human population, and by betraying the humens during peacetime he pretty much succeeded on mars

He even killed all the dogs and cats

damnit this show was awesome.
i so fucking hate that i was a southamericanon back in the days so almost no toy ever showed up at stores.

The show actually dealt with prejudice, war, plots twists, character development and desings in a really unique way.
It also knew how to treat its audience , i was not too dumb and light enough to not depress you for the horror you were witnessing sometimes.

The only thing that hampered its potential was the QUALITY animation and eventual cancelation with a cliffhanger episode .

fuck my google-fu , whenever i have enough money to try and by one of the toys on e-bay , its ludicrulously expensive , or i´m broke when they are cheap xc .

I have this figure somewhere at my dad's place. I lost the fleshy bits that go inside it and the missiles and I'm pretty sure one of the wings is snapped in half too. I should see if I can find it sometime.

This was a weird time for toys too because we were also getting those Aliens toys.
>>

>>
>>14091313

Grr. It's hard to find a decent Shiva complete in box. He's the only one I want and have yet to find.
>>
>>14089525
I rewatched it last year. Hadn't seen it since the mid to late 90's. It was just as good as I remembered it. I thoroughly enjoyed it except how it ends on a cliffhanger never to be resolved.
>>
I had a bunch of the toys. I moved before highschool and felt l didn't need toys anymore. I really regret tossing them now. I'd love to have them on a shelf in my computer room to go with all my TMNT and ghostbusters figures that I tossed with them.
>>
Didn't this toyline get Destroids and Valkyries at one point?
>>
>>14089525
The first season really impressed me. They actually referenced collaborators during World War 2 and other historical things like that. The animation and character design are, uh, pretty 90s, but the show itself has very strong writing, IMO.

>>14095236
Marsala was not just a dreamer. He was one of the leaders of the very first Neo Sapien revolt. The one that failed because Phaeton betrayed them to save his own skin.

>>14093053
The mistake was the fact that according to Marsala the Neo Sapiens had been created as a slave species for humans and saw themselves as having no future for their kind and no past to guide them. The ending kind of resolves that with humans promising to create a new generation of Neo Sapiens that could reproduce (whether that backfires on them was never resolved, but I think it's very likely given that the ExoFleet also keeps Phaeton's clones of himself).

It didn't fail, though. The Neosapiens did gain explanded rights. Hell, Phaeton's whole plan was predicated on his position in the government, which he would not have been able to obtain if it wasn't for Marsalla's rebellion.

>>
>>14097074

'Biotech >>> all' seemed to be a thing in SF in the late 90's and early 2000's ( the Vorlons and Shadows in B5 and Yuuzhan Vong in the Star Wars EU just to name a few examples). The Mutants were probably related to that.
>>
>>14121162

The mutants or bioships? Because in SW that was to contrast them with the Empire/Republic while in B5 and Voy it was to demonstrate how advanced some race were in being able to engineer living ships as weapons.

>Because "the enemy race" was a slave race (but superior physically and mentally) created by humens in outer space with science

It's actually kind of a plot point that despite being more intelligent than humans, Neosapiens lack creativity. They can build upon and improve existing technology but actually inventing new things is beyond them. They try to rectify this by making a new breed of Neosapien with ++Intelligence, the Neo Megas. Unfortunately for them, the Neo Megas are so smart that they decide that things would be better off if they were running things, and well, you can predict the result.

Oh man, this thread is still around... well, that was on stardestroyer.net. The general thrust of the argument was that most organic ships would end up being gigantic space eggs/whales and the advantages of being able to build on a nanoscale (living tissues are essentially organic nanomachines) are outweighed by the fact that macroscale structures like spaceships are much more easily assembled by a machine press rather than slowly grown from nutrients and raw material (and it WILL be slow; it takes 9 months to gestate a baby and 18 years for that baby to reach adulthood, for instance).

If enough effort were invested in biotechnology somehow advances to the point where you could produce macroscale structural materials via organic means which are viable for space travel, odds are you could invest the same effort in current materials science and get a better result.

Also, any organic-based spaceship drive is essentially going to be rocket-powered farting, and good luck making the reaction vessel for that organically!

About two and a half Chirico's. The Amphibious Assault E-Frame is one of the most massive E-Frames from the show and is a two-seater. However, most frames are not terribly taller than the operator.

Both shots came from season 1 episode 4 when Phaeton is waxing poetic about how awesome shit is going to be on account of Neosapiens seizing their destiny.

As I said, you don't see them much, I think they pop again a few times later in the course of the series.
