>what is gaia gear?
Gaia Gear is a story set in the future of the Universal Century timeline, specifically in UC 0203.
Once more, the governments of Earth and its space colonies are at odds and resolve their differences
with man-machines. This time the resistance group Metatron fights against the Man Hunting Attachment
police force of the corrupt Earth Federation. To have better chances Metatron creates a memory clone
of the legendary Char Aznable called Afranshia Char, who commands the troops of Metatron and pilots
the Gaia Gear Alpha.

I had a big smile on my face whenJack Bloom said he was a Mobile Suit pilot. I guess that means Mobile Suits did see some use throughout the second century of the Universal Century in Gaia Gear's backstory. In the early episodes, when they see that Mobile Suit washed up on the beach, Everly said something about Mobile Suits being used a hundred years ago, as if there hadn't been much warfare since the Axis Shock. Jack Bloom was born UC 0128, so if we were to update things for 2016, he could've fought in the Zanscare war...
It's weird hearing the word 白人 (hakujin) in an anime-related work. (At 2:41.) Or rather, it's weird that I don't hear it that much. I might remember hearing it in Macross Zero, and that's it.
