It was a weird scene because up until that point the only relationship between the two we saw was that poor Sousuke was her boytoy. Poor guy was so scared of her raping him in his sleep when she came to his school ( and effectively getting him killed by his superiors) that he passed out. There was no reason for him to have any attachment to her other than absolute terror when she wasn't on duty, so it makes even less sense for her to think he has any feelings for her.
