Keep the sabre as a secondary weapon, give it a proper ranged gun, dump the shield or remove the crappy micro-missle system.

Basically just replace the whole thing; melee weapons are always a bad main weapon, and the gimmick shield is only good for laying traps and defensive fighting which defeats the point of using an MS.

Even in Gihren's Greed, it's not worth mass-producing. Shooting is far more important than melee in battle, and most Gyans have the ranged attack power of a Super Soaker. Even some of your best pilots tend to get shot down more often when stuck in Gyans.

Gyan Cannon is probably one of the most balanced Gyans, has the same maneuvrability as the normal Gyan. But then even Gelgoog Cannon is overpowered.

The Gyan exemplifies what's wrong with the whole Gundam as a real robot series. The design is just so fucking stupid and retarded that its place is next to Mazinger not in some pseudo-realistic mecha anime.
