How's the show so far?

I'm enjoying it. Good mix of police comedy hijinx and episodic story telling. Even for people who hated to the show, I'd have them at least watch episode 6 (the sad mecha homage ep)

Not watching it, but I stopped at 4 or 5 (the Poker episode). I stopped because the show was dull, the designs weren't that great and the writing was terrible. All movie hands, she was the secret poker genius all along, just protecting her family, don't get obsessed etc? I mean, really?

I know I should watch the next one since I think it's the mech one, and the stage concert bit with the otaku not wanting to go ahead was decent, but I was already meh on the show and that episode pushed me over. The villains were annoying too, constantly lounging around and making little to no effort of investment. Even his design annoyed me, with his lanky beanpole frame and attached loli. I've since gotten annoyed the whole unit (bar the mechanic) seemingly have their own willwears (and they're all meh), which seems a tad out of place.

Her being revealed to be a secret poker fan who never bet big or got obsessed and only got in to casino's to help her family just felt stupid and forced. Especially when there was no previous hint of it and she acted so bored about the whole thing. Yea, it's no worse than most shows, but since I didn't care about the show as is, it drove me over the edge from "meh" to "bleh".

I was, frankly, completely indifferent to that episode. But I've enjoyed most of the show as lighthearted and often silly fun.

Poker was portrayed unrealistically, yes, but that doesn't matter to me. This isn't a show regularly focused on that subject, nor is it attempting to seriously sell itself as such. It's unrealistic writing, but not necessarily bad unless you're an autistic about this.

Of course it's an episodic production, so each episode will tend to be different. But in fact, I don't see anything wrong at all with having willwear suits for the whole team. That's to be expected of a show with such transparent Super Sentai influence. I am actually pretty satisfied with that, since most of the outfits are

Alright man, just pointing out that neither of those things had any such impact on me (nor on most others watching the show, I'd imagine). I've never been bored either, and don't have a problem with the designs. I'll accept the villains aren't too great, but they're actually taking action lately.

Stud Poker focuses on the art of bluffing perhaps the most of any poker variant. The only thing the episode does that's unrealistic is having everyone play with abnormally good hands, but you'd chalk that up to a specially programmed dealer bot to facilitate that.

The idea being that since all but one card is exposed information for all players, you have to bluff your opponent down into submission because a single hole card can mean the difference between a good hand and jank.

Glossary update for episode 11

Japan Style is a nickname for the way that Japan in 2035 stored all their information infrastructure like politics, economy, culture, and information of all its citizens electronically.
At first, it was regarded as an unique Japanese thing how they managed their society. After a while, it has been so deeply ingrained in Japanese mentality that the nickname has become synonym to the information system itself.

The Back Slam attack that Oscar 2 (Strike Interceptor) uses is one of the preset attack patterns during black mode (sublimation mode deactivated). The principle is of course simple. Accelerate, turn around, and slam into the opponent at full speed.
