Honestly Dino Charge is ok to me and not this beacon of light simply because Judd Lynn is behind it. While DC is miles better than Samurai and Megaforce......the show is starting to show the same flaws and problems that plagued the other 2 with the godawful puns and unnecessary talking during the fight scenes, a mentor that doesn't do shit, the crappy BGM, and inconsistencies with the footage.

The talking wasn't so bad in the first half, but the second half has really upped it for some reason. I would tolerate it a bit more if the sound mixing wasn't so awful. Why has the sound mixing in the Neo Saban seasons been so bad? It's like Doctor Who awful.

Sadly we're stuck with the crappy BGM with no way of getting rid of Kaniel. Unless Saban dies and his successor won't pay his protege to make generic trash.

That's kind of the problem actually. Aside from the whole "cinematic universe" thing they seem to be going out of their way to differentiate themselves from the Disney movies by making their own much more serious and dark, which doesn't necessarily work well alongside super heroes, rather than just making things straightforward.

Dark Knight/ DKR were commercial successes, but that had a lot to do with a strong creator vision. It's not something they can just recreate.

Notice how in none of the BvS trailers is Superman ever smiling. I remember him smiling maybe twice in MoS.

That's partially true. Dino Thunder had it's own unique footsoldiers (Tyrannodrones) but they used the originals from Aba too, called Triptoids.
They weren't used at first, but there was a storyline involving a video game world which Triptoids were enemies in. Zeltrax/Geildon captured them from the game and they were used too for the rest of the season.
Funnily enough, Tyrannodrones never had figures released, whereas Triptoids had figures in various colors.

I don't have a problem with Kendall, I just feel she is kind of just there. She has so little personality compared to rangers. But I'm only about 17 eps into Dino Charge so I'm not sure if she become a ranger or acquire any more depth to her character.

Kind of makes you wonder why coaches living vicariously through their team is seen as touching in most sports movies.

These episodes are fun and all, and the characters are still great, but there really needs to be a story soon. We're kind of in the whole Megaforce thing where there's upgrade after upgrade, too.
I hope, at least in the last 10 or so episodes that something big happens considering how much more they can still do both with the show itself and how much Kyoryuger they can take from.

VO listings. Two characters called "Zenowing" and "Doomwing" appeared for a couple actors. Fans were quick to assume that was Torin and Mad Torin.

We got further confirmation when Doomwing's toy was revealed and it was Mad Torin. You can actually see a store listing at Walmart.com for Doomwing.

It's funny, I was just thinking about this yesterday morning while catching a rerun of Royal Rangers. As great as Dino Charge has been, there's still some awkwardness left over from the last two series that's trying to keep it homogeneous with Nick's comedies. It doesn't hurt the series too much, but there are still certain scenes that feel like there's a missing laugh track.

Disney's producers made sure PR was handled vastly differently from their other shows, even the few non-comedic series they had. Maybe it is just a difference in network sensibilities. Or maybe it's just more noticeable in hindsight since neither Disney or Nick currently have shows with a tone similar to classic PR.

Except for Super Ninjas, but we don't talk about that.
