Oh, and my reasoning for this is that Mika has been shown to be excessively protective of his friends (choking Gali-Gali at the farm), so naturally when Biscuit dies he'll snap.
Bonus points if the Barbatos' eyes start glowing all demonic like because of the Alaya-Vijnana system and the whole demon theme the names have going on

>>
Does anyone else feel like the plot still isn't really going?

Everyone was saying lots of stuff would happen on earth, but the only political scene we've had on earth was exposition. You can't say it is a character story either as when Biscuit started to have an arc he just dies
>>
>>13962530
No. I didn't watch the stream but she is apparently back with her squad or whatever. I guess Mika just let her go or something. There is no other way for her to escape.

>>
>>13962576
They dont have to damage it, they just need to knock him off and let squirrel run back to the ship
>>
>>13962566

Well, even then, you know, that's the route they take with this character?

They don't have her be the victim of Mika's wrath because she just killed their friend, or they don't disable and capture her to get an upper hand on the bargaining table, they just let her leave and blast off again like goddamn Team Rocket?
>>
>>13962578
They would have to cross the battlefield to do so while she is literally at death's door. He could just smash her cockpit with that big ass weapon.

>>13962584
If she dies next episode I'm going to be pissed since letting her go accomplished nothing. I still don't get why Takaki lived when he hasn't done shit since his near death.
>>
>>13962585
I actually think Takaki was meant to die but they changed it last minute. He has barely been present and the whole mourning would make more sense if a named character had been lost cause otherwise only brain dead audience members would care

The question is why exactly? My theory is they expected more shipping with him and guts
>>
>>13962564
Maybe if Carta wasn't actually the best character of them all.
>>
>>13962591
Even the fans forgot about Takaki and it was a huge disappointment that he survived to do absolutely nothing. I think maybe the backlash from Mika executing those guys was still lingering at that point so they avoided killing him because of that.
>>
>>13962591
>>13962620
Nah I think he lived after that obvious death flag to introduce the magical space jacuzzi that's now saving ein. Though they've done nothing with takaki since then so he might as well be dead
>>
I think they did it. Even if it's objectively worse, I enjoyed SEED Destiny way more than this. Starting from some point every episode is slowly melting me. I'm so bored it's like torture. It's why people only ever talk about one or two moments from an episode as there is nothing of real note outside it.

There are children that have traits from different girls at least. I think what she actually means is that he took them in out of compassion and not for the sake of getting more wives.

He is probably only romantically engaged with a couple of them (amida, lafter, azee) and just calls the others his wifes, so the others in Teiwaz don't decide to make them prostitutes again. keep in mind Teiwaz is basically space Yakuza

>>
>>13962792

Because we need someone to die aside from Biscuit so it feels like the orphans have struggled to get where they are.
>>
>>13962777
That guy was just making a joke

But the problem with this is like a lot of IBO it is half arsed. It tries to do something with a load of characters but doesn't have time, a good direction, interesting implications or pay off and you end up with a load of characters that just have traits or feelings stapled on. Not every character needs to have some big backstory just make them work nicely as a simple thing.
>>
>>13962798
>>13962802
Nah, Azee is most likely to die, or maybe Lafter. I thought Eco was there to replace one of them.
>>
So... seriously. How the fuck did Carta escape?

That is literally sub-"Kira somehow survived an explosion" levels of bullshit. At least you can wank that was as implusible. Carta was literally being held down by the Chainsaw Mace last episode, how the fuck did her guys just drag her *entire robot* away from that without Mika killing them?
>>
>>13962790
It's such a perfect setup for cheap drama though:
>Gaelio sacrifices himself while saving Carta next ep.
>Ein wakes up from the coma with AV installed
>"where's Specialist Major?"

Gaelio is my favorite character and I'd hate to see him go like that and become yet another superior that Ein has to avenge.
>>
>>13962808
At least it would make sense this time and not from someone who went I hate killing children it is a bad thing to do
>>
>>13962805
mika was in shock over biscuits death. that probably bought them a second or two.

>>13962792
they needed another mechanic because they have 5 mobile suits now. Ryusei Go, Barbatos 6th form and maybe even Rebake are equipped with Tarbine Technology. at least they're trying to make it plausible where all these new custom MS come from.
>>
>>13962777
That was me and it's kind of late for this. All them revealing this in the very last episodes of the show does is give off death flags to the girls. This is something that should have been mentioned way back when Kudelia and Atra were playing with the babies or sometime during all the shitty downtime we got in space. It doesn't help their characters now. They barely even qualify as characters and there is very little time left for them to grow from this revelation. Naze isn't even in the damn show anymore.
>>
>>13962813
That would take more than a goddamn second or two, Mika was literally holding her robot in the grip of his chainsaw mace, which his robot is still holding.
>>
>>13962767
>>13962755
Get the second monitor. Browse /m/ and "watch" some boring shit like IBO at the same time. I've been doing this for years, highly recommend it.
>>
>>13962804
Azee would likely die doing some sort of line holding, Laftner would be the quick sudden death to a new challenger arriving and Eco is unlikely aside from the hangar being targeted.
>>
>>13962828
So Amida is confirmed for remaining sole survivor?
>>
>>13962809
Undoubtedly, but it would still feel kind of... cheap? I hope Gaelio will at least interact with AV-Ein, it would also provide drama but also a bit of character development.
>>
>>13958326
what are the Fs for?
>>
>>13962834
I'm just listing how they will likely die not that they will all die.

Amida is likely to suvive this season, but should we get another season that opens new possibilities of her dying.

It's terrible that people are looking at two secondary characters for the development isn't it? No one is talking about Mika or Orga
>>
>>13962851

Well, with good reason. Mika's one of the blankest slates to ever blank, and his moment with Orga felt like the first time they shared a scene in months.
>>
>>13962850
Thanks.
>>
>>13962860
I believe it was about 4 episodes ago they sort of had a conversation when everyone was agreeing to let Kudelia do a speech to the colony. They were in a scene together after when Char came on board but that was like a hello and then he talked to Char
>>
>>13962851
>That's how every death has felt
I admit I kind of liked how Fumitan was written in ep. 15 - erratic, self-doubting and inconsistent in her doings. Her death scene felt cheap, though, I agree.

Also, aren't Mika and Orga supposed to be stationary? They are these unwavering protagonists who face doubts, but in the end prove everyone that they were right, at least from their standpoint.
>>
>>13962869
>Also, aren't Mika and Orga supposed to be stationary
Not really when Orga has been doing the self doubt thing forever and even changed views after being challenge like at the funeral

Mika just barely qualifies as a character
>>
>>13962875
>like at the funeral

>>
>>13962869
>They are these unwavering protagonists who face doubts, but in the end prove everyone that they were right

Reminds of me of the first OP.
Orga and Mika both look like bad boys, deliquents, tough, cocky, shaped by a life of violence, foul-mouthed always down for some rough-housing, fearless, and doing things that are incredibly irresponsible. Like you said, they would eventually prove everyone else that they were right.
Orga is the boss while Mika is his quiet but equally as dangerous right hand man.

In the actual show we do get bits of that but in the loosest sense. Orga does do irresponsible and dangerous things, but not because he's fearless and a bit on the edge, but really he's a big softy with low self-confidence does it to impress Mika. In the beginning Mika is the guy who coldly kills people, and throughout the show that has been kept consistent at least, but for the most part he's reduced to a prune-popping autist who only serves as a doll to praise others, be it Orga, Atra, or Kudelia.

I honestly feel nostalgic for Seed now. That's a mediocre ripoff of other series, but it felt like it was trying to tell a bigger story and have bigger battles. Also, the Coordinator/Natural thing was relatively unique if not done well.

This is just slapping Gundams in a mediocre drama series and calling it a day.

No. Stop spouting nonsense. Seed(both seasons) is bad because characters are insufferable. I wanted to brutally murder every single one of them. Seed makes me mad. And that's a sin.
IBO is just bland. It's "normal". It's "nothing happens: the anime". It's "all those characters are crying under the rain and I can't bring myself to give even a half of a fuck". Being bland is not a sin.

Kira is a godawful deviant art character of a self-insert, but Destiny actually sold the Mobile Suits and had the unrealistic characters look coo.

If this took place in IBO, it would take three episodes of Kira exiting the atmosphere with talking heads of people telling experienced pilots how dangerous it was and then another episode to show the Strike Freedom. Then, we would get three minutes of fighting for all that buildup.

Also, Lacus would be crying for half the series about how she can't protect peace and then someone would give an expo dump on ZAFT and the Durandal take over for 5 minutes. Multiple times.

I expect everyone else to job, actually.

Gaelio and Ein will have Alaya-vijnana, presumably they'll be able to go straight to level two-or-three since they're doing it in an actual medical facility. I expect Gaelio to focus on Akihiro (possibly getting Lafter killed), Ein to focus on Norba because "muh Crank", and Carta will somehow keep Mika occupied.

The entire underpinning of the show has been A-V and how it lets Tekkadan mercilessly slaughter everyone they meet, it's time to turn the tables.

They literally didn't show how she got away. Unbelievable. It reminds of when we were only shown Hilling and the rest retreating in their escape pods in 00 with no explanation until the next episode. The difference being that this show doesn't have the audience on /m/ to make a huge deal out of it.
>>
>>13963414
>They literally didn't show how she got away
Mika sperged out, then froze. Her subordinates grabbed her suit and cheesed it the fuck out of there.

Mika isn't really the sharpest hammer in the box - he probably figured she was good as dead.
>>
>>13963420
He spaced out for so long that others were able to come up, get her out the jaws and drag her away?
>>
>>13963422
The final part doesn't have her in the jaws, it has the jaws closed and clubbed down on her suit's head. As they drag her suit back in this episode, the Graze Ritter is completely missing its head unit.

As an aside, there is one small thing I'm retro-actively appreciating in the combat and that's the armor purges. They're pretty consistent as far as being used strategically.
>>
>>13963429
>As they drag her suit back in this episode, the Graze Ritter is completely missing its head unit.
You make that sound like ripping off a robots head would be a very quick thing you could do that would in no way draw someone's attention. Even if they do have some head detach button that is not something you could do subtly

You make it sound like Mika went into a mini coma where he was aware of nothing for an extended period
>>
>>13963429

>>
>>13963396
Isn't only Ein getting AV though? The whole setup for the next ep seems like a huge deathtrap for Gaelio and/or Carta too, but I'd actually prefer to see your version.
>>
>>13963432
I'm actually suggesting that Mika smashed off the Graze's head completely - making pulling her suit away reasonably easy to do.

Besides, with Orga right there on the ground and injured, Mika's posture would be entirely defensive.

>>13963433
Good question. Akihiro's position was also unclear since he started out reasonably close to Norba and Mika. All we know is that Arcee and Lafter were holding the beach, and that two guys were able to pull Carta's suit out of there.

>making pulling her suit away reasonably easy to do.
Easy to do? I'll be generous as say only one would need to do it but really two would. So they have to run to her when they were dotted around other places, then he needs to drag a massive MS all the way back to a safe point without getting targeted at all and dealing with all the trees and other terrain. Now if two grabbed her it might be easy to carry but that means they have to both coordinate to stop what they are doing and both go there to pick up another MS. That is in no way an easy task why on earth would you defend this when even the show tried to ignore it?

And if Mika was fucking frozen then just kill him. There is zero reason not to stab him through if they were able to start pulling her away
>>

So, the text could go either way, but I feel like the entire point of the speech is convince Gaelio that Gjallarhorn was made on AV, their Seven Stars ancestors had AV, and so those who wish to reform Gjallarhorn ought to have AV.

Also, I really like the idea of Gaelio committing to his revenge with such resolve that he overcomes his prejudice against cybernetics. It'd make his character have an actual journey with meaningful development over these last twenty plus episodes.

Dude just dominated your entire squad and has incapacitated your beloved commander. Not only would you not want to fuck with him, you may want to actually save your commander. Also, are you really expecting anyone, especially Gjallarhorn's mostly for-play soldiers with their lack of experience and love of pageantry, to think logically in this situation?

As for the head, it's definitely smashed in the ground, but we have no idea about the connection. The inner frame for these suits isn't really all that great, so having the neck snap doesn't seem out of the question. Could the scene have been thought out better? Fuck yes. Is it that bad? Not really. Pretty par for the course with this show.

Your ideas are at odds. They don't want to mess with him, but are willing to walk right up him and pick up a suit that is right under his nose cause they have noticed he is frozen and not doing anything. Do they think he is a bear so no sudden movements as it is fine? I guess Mika just went completely deaf and unaware for all that time

Right. instead you reduce their mothers to literal baby factories who are obligated to give birth to a child even if they are raped or are in danger themselves. You can't argue against dehumanization if that is what you do to the mother.(And if you're in favor of abortion in cases of rape then you're just hypocritical.)

No it doesn't. Two(4/8/16/whatever) cells is no better than one. They're not a human. An 8-month old fetus is not a human. A newborn is not a human. Even a 3 year old is, arguably, still not a human. It's ok to dispose of them.

His actions finally resulted in a child being concieved. This is the result of my actions and so I deserve to be a literal baby factory for 9 months which can be painful or even life-threatening because of the 'consequence of my actions' of being born into an abusive household."

I come across this shit all the time at work and arguing that it is a child's fault that she didn't somehow magically stop her rapist is disgusting as fuck, you horrible shit.

What if the mother's life is at risk? Is the innocent child's life worth more or less than the mother's? Like, again, in the case of underage children it's actually rather dangerous for them to give birth, especially if they're poor or sick. Should she be obligated to risk her life to give birth to a child through no fault of her own?

If there is no brain function how is a fetus any different from a potato? Unless you believe in shit like a soul then brain function is all there is to being human, the flesh is just a vessel for your mind. If there is no mind then there is no murder. Same with people who no brain activity and no hope of recovery. They're already dead and stopping the flesh from continuing is just a formality.
>>
>>13963777
The only time abortion is permitted if mothers life is at risk. Thats the only time its ok like when the fetus imbeds in the fallopian tube. But if its perfectly healthy for the mother to carry to term abortion shouldnt be an option. Even pro life countries allow in most exteme cases because you save at least one. One it's not done because of convinced but to prevent 2 deaths. Rather have one die unfortunately then both. Also intent matters.
>>
You know the big flaw about abortion that is being ignored also?

Banning it doesn't make it go away. It just means it's more dangerous. Someone who can't get access to abortion isn't going to shrug and decide maybe it isn't so bad. They're going to go find a less safe and illegal method that puts their lives at risk, or they're going to 'accidentally' fall down the stairs, or they're going to go for the countless other methods that exist and which legalized abortion helps prevent.

Unarguably some will decide to keep the child but others will die when it could have been prevented through clean, safe and professional abortions, and no matter how much you want to argue that is 'deserved,' a 13 year old with the product of rape and incest in her body doesn't deserve to die from a botched back-alley abortion because she feels so has no other choice.
>>
>>13963806
They are still living human person. You seem to try to categorize what is human in weather they are working properly or not. Once you start to dehumanize a group of people, justification to kill them comes soon after. See most genocides in World history
>>
>>13963815
This has never been a substantiated claim. No real statistics. In fact many countries that ban abortion have an program's that help expectant mothers.
>>
>>13963811
Why? Or even better, what if the mother chooses to die. She is told she'll absolutely die if she gives birth but believes abortion is a sin. Should she be obligated to have an abortion? Why not? Why is she allowed to choose to die but can't choose to have an abortion?
>>
>>13963815
People will still kill steal so might as well legalize it.
>>
>>13963828

That's true of everything though. Illegal weed just makes people go into dodgy routes and get referred onto harder drugs by their dealers. Illegal prostitutes just leads to pimping, slave trade, sex abuse, sexually transmitted diseases etc. Legal prostitution just makes it safer for everyone involved, you can even go down the route of mandating regular medical check ups and safe sex education to be given licence to practice as a prostitute making it a cleaner, smarter industry.

We'd all be better off across the board if most things were just regulated instead of outlawed and prisons focused on rehabilitation than punishment.

>>
>>13963835
Implying legal is moral. Implying Roe 's Wade was some sort of triumph to human progress. Implying murder should be legalized since some people do it.
>>
>>13963833
The difference there is there is no actual justifiable argument for legalizing theft or murder. Abortion, regardless of how much you want to ignore it, involves a unique conflict between a mother and a fetus where they have intersecting rights that overlap and the decision has to be made in favor of one of them.

It also ignores that choosing to criminalize abortions just means you are inherently telling women they are worth less. It also means rapists can inflict worse harm because a woman has no option once she had been raped.
>>
>>13963843
You are horrible human being you know that? You are literally dehumanizing people because they don't fit you criteria. That's the first step to Genocide.

"Women are biologically designed to be pregnant" doesn't make it not a horrible state. Human beings (and pretty much every animal on the planet) are fucked up collections of mishmashed parts which don't necessarily have optimal creation.

So, a legitimate question:
If someone took a woman, cut off her arms and legs, and forced her to be a literal breeding factor for the rest of her life, wouldn't that (under your argument) be moral? After all nothing compared to an entire life so the act of turning a woman into a breeding factory should be justified because it creates many lives and it only infringes on one woman.
>>
>>13963913
I dunno. Gjallahorn developing the Gundam frames leads to a lot of interesting questions, like how the fuck they managed to lose track of so many of them -- there's at least THREE of the things hanging around after the Calamity War that aren't in Gjallahorn's hands (Barbatos, Gusion, and Astaroth). also the implication that the Grimgerde was likely the biproduct of a different branch of MS research that sought to enhance Mobile Suit's agility without forcing people to undergo AV surgery. and going further with that, the proliferation of Grazes developed from Grimgerdes instead of mass-produced Gundams also implies that the anti-AV faction of Gjallahorn somehow came into power post-CW, while the AV-proponent faction was essentially kicked into the basement for 300 years. But at this point I'm probably putting more thought into the Mobile Suit's and Gjallahorn's history than the fucking staff ever did.
>>
>>13963892
Ok. You see, it's like you just don't get it.
When a combination of cells has a mind, consciousness, self-awareness, it's a human. When a combination of cells doesn't have a mind, etc., it's just that. A combination of cells. Bones and meat. Tissue. Chemical elements. It can't be classified as "human" or, even better "a person", because it just doesn't have this thing that makes us human.
And, back to abortions, toddlers develop self-awareness only when they're about 2 years old. Think about that.

That's an ontological question, not a medical one. A medical question is "When does the heart start beating?" or "When is the fetu viable outside the womb?" or "When is a baby first conscious?" All of them are legit questions and which one drives policy is a complicated question. I go with viability.

You're just twisting definitions to match your agenda. If you asked a biologist "So life begins at conception, can a literally four cell embryo feel pain or sadness?" they'd say no.

Conception is the beginning of the journey of journey of a human as an organism, sure. But the ability to think and feel does not begin at conception. An embryo is not a person. The mind is the important part, with no mind it's nothing.

An embryo without a mind is not a person. A body with no brain function left in it is not a person. You know what would be a person? Someone that has discarded their physical body and uploaded their consciousness into a machine. The mind matters, the body does not.

Consciousness is literally the defining element of what it means to be a human being. Without consciousness there is no issue with abortion.

No, they're questions with medically-verifiable answers, instead of ones that rely on one's personal morality to answer. In other words, questions we can reach an objective consensus on. Even if you have a moral objection to certain types of behavior, you can't make laws based on that objection. You have to show that it's behavior that negatively affects society in some measurable way.

This argument is very different when you argue that, say, the worth of the potential life that was pre-empted is greater than the damage done to a society when unwanted children are born.

Rights are not given you are born with them
>>
I think what I hate most about the abortion debate is that the exact same points are brought up every time.
No one brings anything new to the table.
>>
>>13964230
There's really not much to it. It basically boils down to whether or not you think a fetus has rights.
>>
>>13964219
Fetuses don't survive 12 weeks in.

>>13964221
>born
Welp.
>>
>>13964219
not really. think of it as a reward for surviving to that point.
>>
>>13964240
What 3 month premies have been documented to survive. Rare but it happens
>>
>>13964252
>survive
for how long, honestly? nothing's finished forming, how would they do it?

>>
>>13964354
are they still alive? that's what I'm asking, anon. have any of them made it past ten yet? it seems like their bodies would fail them later on.
>>
>>13964365
They are. Many dont make it but miracles do happen. You really underestimate life.
>>
>>13964379
cool.

all those children were actually wanted, though.

>Rights are not given you are born with them
"Rights" are a invention that's only sometimes guaranteed to you by a legislative body.
Rights mean jack fucking shit in the real world, buddy.

For some reason a cape means that they want a duel.

What? Orga was terrified as fuck while Mika was smiling after he killed some dude as children. Orga seems to be the sane one dragged around by Mika's murderous boner.
>>
>>13962767
yeah, same thing goes for me
>>
DAE think Orga will die in the coming episodes?
>>
So Ein is going to be IBO equivalent of "cyber newtype"?
>>
>>13966909
They're all technically "cyber newtypes," as all of them were given AV surgery instead of being born with psychic spatial awareness perception. But Ein got it at an older age than the orphans, and he'll probably be just as crazy as the cyber newtypes we know.
>>
I guess I'm weird, but I adored Mika's actions this episode. I wanted him to smack the shit out of Orga and say "Fuck you, you don't get to be sad because one of us died. This is the path we are on and it's a fucking insult to his life if you break now. You don't get to be sad. You don't get to falter. We're going through hell and you are fucking leading us if I have to hold a gun to your head."

And he fucking did just that. And it was glorious. I can't think of a Gundam prorag who is so fucking cold. It's refreshing.
>>
>>13967093
He's so cold he let Carta get away. Truly the best protag ever.
>>
>>13962892
So this conversation implies not all the girls are fucking him. The logistics of maintaining a harem that big happy were making me worried.
>>
>>13963017
I like them together, but as some sort of pseudo-siblings.

No, I'm pretty confident Lafter is Naze's woman and even has a baby by him. Unless the baby she was playing with ain't hers.
