Obscure /m/ games
I want to know more about pic related. I have no way of playing it at all. And there's barely any coverage on it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LLIvtUpFr4
Shame Project HON got cancelled. I hope ncsoft continues with it if they can generate enough profit from their mmo's
This game is total shit if anyone played it. I bought it from a merchant at an anime con. I heard it sucked before hand but I bought it anyway because mecha looked cool.

Is this guy using a cheat code?
>contact w enemy torch, no health loss
>falls down pit, no life lost
This game needs a sequel
>>13924406
>tfw can't find an NTSC-J iso anywhere
>Translation is literally google translate tier.
>>13924336
The beat-em-up sections were OK but god were the fighting game boss fights painful
>>13924334This is actually a trap, for the love of all that is holy do not play this game, even if the mech designs are actually not terrible
>>13924490
Is it really so bad? I want to pirate it.
>>13924493
I mean if you want to pirate it feel free but it's not worth giving any money for what is essentially an MMO with the online elements ripped out with a crowbar. It's still a painful experience regardless of whether you give them money for it or not, but if your getting it free it's one of those things you can at least riff on a bit.If your slightly masochistic you could even make a drinking game out of it but chances are you'll have given yourself bladder cancer doing it by the halfway point of the first game, no matter what it's about.
>>13924471
Phantom Crash had US release as well
>>13924393
The plamo is sweet though.
>>13924524
I bet the were. Top notch 00's mecha design, no feet
>>13924369
A real damn shame since it was looking to he the /m/ game I'd always wanted.
>>13924493
Game is unintentionally hilarious, and you can't beat Master Shake/The Alchemist voicing a reoccuring villain in a JRPG.
>>13924334
Inti Creates made that game before they were acknowledged to be cool in the West. It's what the Megazone 23 game should have been. Also, have you tried emulation? PSX emulators generally are more stable than PS2 ones.
Neon Genesis Evangelion mahjong for the gameboy color
An obscure /m/ games thread? Well, we all know what that means.
over on futaba I saw this pop up in a thread
looks to be a SFII clone with robots
>>13925254Ooooh, I'm not through with you yet, Glitch! HAHAHAHAHA!
sequel nevar
>>13925289
Fuck Blizzard, seriously. Bought Swinging Ape Studios and made all the employees work on StarCraft Ghost, now we'll never see Metal Arms 2.
Tech Romancer is still my shit. Dreamcast is still the greatest.
>>13924334
I have an old burned PSX copy of the game from back in the day. Loved this game, though the controls made it kind of hard to operate and I never got that far in it.
SNES anyone?
>>13925441
You had to manage fuel consumption, armor and energy. Interesting mechanics.
>>13924497
sounds exactly like the dot hack series which I still feel bad about liking when I was younger.
Metaltech: Battedrome I only played at my uncle's apartment (because we didn't have internet) but I remember it being awesome. I also played the shit out of Earthseige and Earthseige 2, as a kid the setting, music and tone of the game creeped me out. It's one of my all time favorite mecha simulators to this day.
>>13925618
>>13924587
I don't own a PC. I use 4chan on my phone lol
>>13925621
>>13925618
Reminder that Looking Glass was a shit.
They promised online play.
>>13925486
.hack was at least slightly fun.
>>13925782
Unless your phone is terrible, you should be able to emulate PS1 games on it.
I find Omega Boost often gets overlooked. I remember it being pretty boss when it came out.
>>13924490
What's so bad about it? I remember my friend buying it & liking it.admittedly he has seriously shit taste on a number of things. He also bought it the day the online play was shut down
>>13924410
Probably within my Top 10 games of last-gen.
I can't believe /m/ barely mentions this series, it's basically snow votoms
>>13925486
I'll freely admit .Hack had it's...moments of complete shit, especially G.U., but I still found the entire package to be a fairly good series.
This thing though is on a "So Bad It's Good" level with just how retarded things get, both from a gameplay standpoint and a plot one. ESPECIALLY a plot one, really. There's only so many times you can hearCISNAandLEONARDrepeated in quick succession before it stops being funny and starts being a nail driven into your skull.
>>13927368
Is the multiplayer for 2 even still up?
I remember playing the Co-op demo on the Xbox 360 so long ago. Hunting down that one huge Arkid with three random people, I remember finding out you could ride on the side of one of the Vital Suits while someone else piloted it and freaking out the entire team cause none of them knew it either.
Good times.
>>13926734
Just beat second playthru. Soo much better than first time around. The game bumped up into one of my favs
>>13925383
That game looks fucking awesome
https://youtu.be/sML_mlHvlfE
>>13924410
what game is this?
>>13924334
anything cute?
>>13927368
I prefer the first one. I love booting it up and playing through it during the winter. Capcom's early 360 titles were pretty awesome.
>>13926182
My xperia x10 mini runs psx emulation just fine. >>13926196
It's my favorite action game from ps1but I didn't know they've made figures for it. Time to hunt I guess.
>>13927713
Vanquish, for ps3/xb360
>>13927798
I've only played the NES one, but in the SNES/PS1 twinbee games, they're little mechs piloted by kids
>>13927798
Have drills, will chase my dreams.
Best Game ever.
>toys get alive and start fighting each other
>and this ain't toy story
Super Robot Wars when?

You'd probably enjoy this Korean mech game.

I should never have gotten rid of my copy of this game. Now you've made me miss it. Thanks a lot, OP.

>PS1 is the best place to look for obscure games.
Any other game with itano circus mechanics other than Bangai-O?
remember when Armored Core went full Escaflowne?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gasJewwN8o
It's not exactly that obscure but damn I will never understand why this game is not more popular. Seriously one of the best Capcom fighters. It is criminal that they only made one.
>>13929514
Yeah Frame Gride kicks ass.
>>13924334
steel battalion, chrome hounds, gunmetal
>>13929692
>why this game is not more popular
she's everywhere, tho
>>13929715
Yeah a couple of the characters pop up in crossover games but I would wager most people haven't played Cyberbots or don't even know what it is.
>>13929715
Mainly because she is Capcom's main Doronjo equivalent (after Tron Bonne, at least).
>>13929715
>she'll never be in the next Darkstalkers game
>because there will never be a next Darkstalkers game.
>>13928305
Was it good?
>>13929749
Not him but I thought it was pretty fun. Decent cast especially if you like 80s stuff. If you are out of ACE games it's worth a play.
you all forget this masterpeice
I bet PC Engine has tons of obscure shoot em ups like Spriggan.
Before it got that re-release/remaster Thexder was a good under appreciated mecha title.
And that sweet cover they used was comfy af

>>13925383
This game is fucking incredible. No other game captures the feeling of mecha anime as well (although Geppy-X and Kiadan 00 come close). It's basically a Koji Kabuto simulator.
Also, I've played it with my friends who are significantly less into /m/ stuff, and they were shouting and cheering like crazy.
Great mechanical design and epic cover art. Horrible game.

Love this game and the first one.
Too bad it's probably dead forever now.

Not sure if it counts.

Or Gunhed. Even got localised as Burning Lasers.
The first Gungriffon for the Sega Saturn. It's only a handful of missions long, but it's all pretty varied and great fun. And the music and sound effects are very good too.
