I'm not sure if I read about it here or some other place, but is it true that the reason there's no real closure to the Kouga storyline is because the actor hasn't really made any kind of TV appearance in a long time?

Leon needed their support to soften up and calm down, then he needed their death as an inspiration to become the guardian Knight he's supposed to be (or as Funi puts it, the ever-awkward "one who protects.")

Leon spent the entire first half of the show only seeing the worst aspects of humanity, so it's not surprising he turned out that way initially. It sounds kind of callous, but Lara and her family did mainly exist as a way to show him that some people are worth protecting. Not dead yet. Going to try to slowly catch back up. Season 1 was really easy to keep up with because I wanted to watch it, but this season not so much.

I won't deny the soundtrack is good, but HnK's is still better. the [Knight] Shoukan themes fit the characters so well. Ryuga's doesn't quite do it in the same way. Yasusuke's comes close though.

so Barago was a makai knight under Kouga's dad. they were friends and had an amiable relationship, then Barago started vyying for more power and started going down a dangerous path, including going into beast mode intentionally.
so heres what i dont get,from what i can tell the few bits that we see of Knight barago before going full dark knight still have him in the Kiba armor. and from what i saw Dark Knight is mostly a title and powerset. so did he just use a tainted version of his Makai Knight armor and weapons, the Ax and/or sword, or was the armor and weapons part of his dark knight persona and have nothing to do with him as a Makai Knight?

As described in the Makai Kado book the armor has the power from the Makai (魔界の力), and it is suppressed by the user's madou power (魔道力). The relationship of "Dark Knight" Kiba and "Light Awakening" Garo is like Light and Shadow. Both of them actually have ascended to a different level.

"Dark Knight" is an easy title given by the Order to those who has "fallen" or "chosen a different path". There are also "Dark Priests". These people doesn't work with the Order, and are hunted by special people like Bikuu.

ZERO Dragon Blood

What bothers me the most about GnT's fights is, not the fact that they're poorly choreographed and usually end in one hit (the other series had some of those scenes as well), but that they poorly utilise the environment.
Not that GnT's environments are noteworthy - it's either just plain walls, empty dirt streets or night time palace backdrops. But when fights happen, the do that arena thing. That's what upsets me the most. It's lazy as fuck, summoning some magical arena/field for a bit to fight in whenever the fight isn't over in one hit - sometimes even when it is. HnK did a lot better, they used the buildings, trees and the environment in fights. The tokusatsu did it great as well. Rei and Kouga fighting while falling down the skyscraper, Rei vs that samurai guy in Makai Senki, most of Kouga vs Sigma fights, that fight where they fly downwards through the trees (I've only seen the Kouga stuff). Even if the CG was wonky in a few of those, it was still somewhat creative and fun to watch.
It just doesn't feel like they're even trying. Like this is just a filler anime until the movie comes out which, judging by the trailer, looks like Mappa put most of their effort in. It's a shame

The narration doesn't even get to the part of Knights at that point, it just talks about Horrors. It is vague because it isn't clearly the coat, lacking it's most distinctive back feature, which is the emblem, plus if you think about it there's no reason for it to be the coat there.
