A bit when Cyber Dragons were really big around the time Future Fusion+Overload Fusion+Chimeratech was a thing.

Right now is mostly a 3 of card in Cyber Dragons and Ancient Gear decks.

That card's seen a lot of use in specific competitive decks. Basically any one that uses machine fusions, like Chimera Overtech and Cyber Twin OTKs, but there have been others.

There's also UFOroid Fighter OTK which it enables, but that's a joke build and no one should take it seriously.

I'd say the English release schedules makes it even worse since they are trying to catch up to the Japanese releases, so each main set comes out around once every two months instead of three in Japan

Even then it depends on what is in said over supported clan since according to Bushitroll if you are not playing Overlord then you are playing Kagero wrong

I'm iffy on how they handled giving English a different start. On one hand, it was nice for clans to get most of their support at one time, such as BT-03 coming out with Dark Irregulars and Pale Moon then BT-07 coming out next to give that more support. It also saved us from being dominated by set 5 crossrides for months.
On the other hand, it enabled Spectral Duke to dominate the format instead and it felt weird buying into it because we could see sets months ahead, so it was kind of like why buy now when the hot juicy stuff is just around the corner.

I really want to start building a Masked Hero deck. Should have been one of the first I've built when I got back into the game considering I am "the Kamen Rider fan" among family and friends. However I'm currently invested in completing too many other decks at the moment to start yet.

I felt the same way when I looked at recent cards.

Now I just play online and build real decks as a collector thing. Also it feels cheap and disingenuous to not own at least one deck you are seriously playing online, but that is just me. Sometimes I play with my younger cousin when he comes over and let him use a deck of mine, but other than that it is online for me.

Maybe this line of thinking can work for you. Works for me, and it is that line of thought I will follow for my own Monarch deck.

No, for two reasons.

1) Great Magnus is an XYZ. You can't fuse an XYZ, thus Power Bond doesn't even start to work.

2) Even assuming you did, one of Great Magnus's abilities means that Power Bond's power up effect doesn't work on it. The only card able to power it up right now is the Magnablade (of course, contrary to that, the only thing able to kill it by methods other than beating it up or forcing it to be tribute is Magnaliger).


You CAN, however, do an OTK with it. It's fucking unwieldy as shit and I've only pulled it off once by accident, but it can be done. 4800 + 3600 + 3600 = dead opponent.

Most decks are viable in the current meta. You'll still have some hard ass matchups though (rg vs control decks, control decks vs gold paladins/granblue/tahi/sp, anything vs laurel d-police).
The japanese loves to bandwagon on decks though while north american regionals have shown variety in top decks when a shitload of people arent playing shadow paladins.

It is not the "buy cards early" that is the problem, but Bushiroad decides to make archetypes/sub-clans out of their ass or suddenly go "LOL have some legacy support that is actually good" with Ripples being the worst offender. I ended up kek'd extremely hard when the English BWC 2015 was won with the Ripple player was still at Grade 2

Since this version Daikaiser + Daiyusha won the 5th Anniversary Supply vote for Dimension Police, I'd hope we will actually get a playmat for this in addition to the sleeves
