Very stiff, overly literal. No one pays subbers very well, unfortunately, so it's just kids who only watch anime and manga, never read a book, etc. It must seem normal to them, but it's not how English speakers talk.

When I read subs to my kids, I edit as I go to make it sound more natural.

Supposedly, the only masters that Tsubaraya has have hard Japanese subs. The versions that were on Hulu, likely came from the Australian co-producers. Apparently they had some big falling out due to misappropriation of funds, so I doubt Tsubaraya could get those versions.

Tsubaraya then gave Chaiyo a letter of apology for infringing on Chaiyo's claim to distribute those series. The forged document wasn't what decided the case, it was the letter of apology.
