When's it getting scanned?
>>
>>13861600
When you buy it.
>>
>>13861600
They're really worth the 11 dollars you poorfag
>>
>>13861701
If they were 11 dollars I'd maybe buy them, but they are 25 dollars, plus shipping and customs taxes. The whole manga would cost me around $350 in total.

Speak for yourself. I'll read scans if I have to, but I find print still makes a better focus.
>>
>>13861795
Spreads just don't work in manga volumes, worse even with hardcovers. Besides that, it's more of a preference, yeah.
>>
>>13861802
Even scans only sometimes get spreads right, so I'll give that a partial point.

Seen a few where the join sticks out like a sore thumb.

Yeah, in good scans they get the center redrawn to make it fit good.

Madokami used to have all the volumes scanned, but someone went and deleted them. Volumes were scanned as they came out and uploaded to IRC, you should be able to find them there still.

No they didn't. I've followed that page since the feature is available, log in everyday and they've never uploaded such thing. You just want to build fruitless hope.
>>
>>13861600
Couldn't agree more with all those saying to buy it.
Don't be that guy man. The series is super worth your money.
I have mine right next to me and it looks fantastic. Vertical did a kick ass job here and put out a quality product.

I would, but customs taxes would make me end up paying around double.

>>13862937

>>
>>13862941
He keeps repeating it though like it somehow validates his refusal to make the purchase. There are plenty of people here that buy merchandise and pay customs taxes without crying about it and asking when the soonest possible time they will be able to steal it will be.
>>
>>13862823
Actually not crazy about Zeta, but Thunderbolt is fucking awesome.
>>
>>13862953
Calm down, man. Piracy isn't the same as stealing. I would never buy a book without reading it first. They aren't losing a customer because if piracy didn't exist I wouldn't buy it either. I'm not such a huge Gundam fan.
>>
>>13862969
Indeed. I read the first three-ish volumes on Comic Walker before I bought the whole set of physical copies. I'll admit though that if I found the whole thing scanned online I probably would have saved my money.

and that's why the vertical release hasn't been scanned.

Because it would involve someone buying them and then tearing them apart to scan.

Throwing away money to give it to anons for free

Also in general, in recent years the lack of /m/en and wo/m/en actually capable of scanning things, translating things, uploading things has severely decreased. Literally no one who has the skill browses /m/.

I preordered each Vertical release as they popped up on Amazon. It's a great collection.

But yeah if you can't responsibly afford buying them, then I don't blame you for wanting scans so you can enjoy some good /m/ material. Hell, I'd love scans so I could have large images from the manga available on my PC. But you'll never see me tear my volumes apart to scan them in.

I might have to look into those Italian scans. Did they have the color pages during the section transitions too?
>>
>>13861788
Well that's what you fucking get for free. You know what's a nice reader? A well-printed paper book.

>Also in general, in recent years the lack of /m/en and wo/m/en actually capable of scanning things, translating things, uploading things has severely decreased. Literally no one who has the skill browses /m/.

It's not that so much as a lack of interest in destroying already translated material.

Unless it's retro stuff or something very unlikely to be licensed (manga or anime for that matter) it's straight up a waste of time for a team to deal with, especially when there are so many other projects that are worth time and possibly money (if rips/scans don't already exist) that will never be translated and made available otherwise.

>>13867460
I'm pretty sure that Vertical didn't expect the success of The Origin. They're still a niche publisher, with a shoestring budget, that had to bend over backwards to Sunrise's whims (ie. covers) in order to get it published. And the biggest irony is that, if you believe Kadokawa, The Origin was conceived as a spearhead to promote Gundam in Western markets.

What you call "shilling" is actually gratitude to Vertical for publishing something that was considered long ago to have been a lost cause. Also, the fact that Vertical's PR guy actually came here to break the news isn't a minor thing.

shill.
noun
1. An accomplice of a confidence trickster or swindler who poses as a genuine customer to entice or encourage others.
2. A person who pretends to give an impartial endorsement of something in which they themselves have an interest.
>>
>>13867793
>just like I would NEVER, EVER get my copy if I didn't preorder every fucking volume 6 months before release, right?
Hindsight is 20/20, moron. Could you've predicted that there were going to be subsequent printings? No.

Also, you do know that prices fluctuate before release, right? And that Amazon charges you the lowest price when it's finally released? Preordering saves you money. You would know that instead of ranting against non-existing "shills".

Digital is always better than physical because digital lasts forever.

The anime and manga industry is notorious for shit being out of print or licensing issues.

And when something is out of print there are two options: used or piracy.

On a similar topic, is Define ever getting translations? I heard it was worse than regular Zeta, but never got an explanation as to why.
>>
>>13881400
Why the hell aren't you backing up more.

I have 2 backup hard drives with copies of everything I have on them. One of which is unplugged when not in use.

It's almost impossible to have 3 drives fail at the same time.
>>
>>13890869
It was, but that seems to have died out.

A lot of people just don't like the art compared to Yas and the story isn't quite as grey as Origin. (The titans are nonredeemable bastards who are implied to have raped fa)
>>
>>13890922
There's two translated chapters. Why did they drop it so fast?

The art is pretty good, maybe people were expecting exactly the same as Origin so they were disappointed. Moral Grayness is also not everything there is to a story, especially considering how Zeta is usually the favorite, and 0079 is mostly ignored. I don't think those are reason enough for the lack of notoriety, there must be something else.

Maybe it's because they were so disappointed by what they read of Char's Deleted affair that they didn't go further, out of expectations of it going bad (since Kitazume did that too).

But then again, someone did storytime some of it on here a while back, and there were complaints about how the Zeta's transformation was drawn.

The art was....
Yeah.

Well there's CGI in it.
Which blows my fucking mind.
Why.

I agree. I mean, aside from the coloring (Kitazume should really to watercolors), the art is pretty decent.

Probably something edited in by the publishing house. Even Origin had a few bits of it.

It really makes you wonder what the hell happened to Kycillia from a hot tomboy to an ugly hag.

I really liked Char's deleted affair, to bad it'll never get finished.

Speaking as one of the typesetters on it, I just never heard back on tl from later chapters.

That said, personally, I wasn't expecting Origin from it. All the same, as someone who enjoyed Zeta, I felt like Define was trying too hard at points. Between deciding the Titans weren't already over the top evil (see: Kakricon going from the kind of grounded counterpoint to Jerid's impulsiveness to a maniacally grinning team-killer) and the really clumsy attempts to justify his penchant for drawing female characters in their underwear (cause after CDA, it's hard NOT to see the Fa strip search scene as Kitazume fishing for an excuse to get his cheesecake on) I would really only be sticking with it after that if the rest of the group wanted it.

Also, between CDA and this, can we at least agree the man's art has gotten lazy since he went to digital?

That reminds me, this has to be the only reason why he made up an entirely new character out of whole cloth (an Ukranian Olympic athlete IIRC) to be one of Jerid's girlfriends.

Noice.
By the way, no nude scenes with Lalah?

It's currently not worth scanning, because we would have to rip apart a beautiful hardcover.

Why don't you just go read the decently done scanlation from a few years ago?

it's only halfway done

Nah. Only a small, cute pantyshot.

But you do also see Mirai's tits, twice in addition to the aforementioned.
