How's the animation in this show? I've seen the OP animated by Kanada who I am a huge fan of, but doesn't look like he did any animation for the episodes themselves.

Standard early 80s fare. If there's one flaw it's the transfer on the DVD rip floating around being complete ass. There are some scenes that are impossible to tell what's going on because everything is so dark it blends in with the space background. Hopefully with the new J9 show coming out this year they'll do a new release of the original series.
