Leo and Jegan should absolutely be MGs. Especially the Jegan. GMs have been kinda screwed by the MG line.

Really? I thought it looked very close to the new lineart (which was decently faithful to the original) and had really really nice detail. I can agree about the MKIII though. New lineart strayed way too far from the proportions of the MSV and they made some weird proportion choices. It's still a good kit though despite no FA.

The lineart is bulky and Zeonish. The actual kit is Seed streamlined. Worst RE100, ever!

But I believe it's intentional, since Bandai has Robot Spirits Dijeh planned.

Go look up one of the usual hobby magazines, they have a special issue on how to mod NG.

Off the top of my head, you can mod the skirt arms, add panel lines, sharpen some of the edges. If you could do just a few it would look very good. OOB however it's pretty plain.

The wings couldn't lift up like the China bootleg one is a big letdown. But overall this RE100 is decent.

Looking at the Dijeh on my shelf, I concede there are proportional differences, but it's hardly SEED skinny. It's still a great kit in my opinion. Never noticed how much more panel lining the lineart had.

GMs and Jegans deserve real MG. It's literally an onomatopoeia.

This proportion / Seed like problem has been spotted very early on when Bandai first showed the prototype. People were hoping Bandai would fix this BS but nope it's final.

Entirely Bandai's fault. But as I said it's probably intentional so people would buy both RE100 Dijeh (got pissed) then buy Robot Spirits Dijeh (which is expensive).

RE/100 hasn't been doing a very great job of capturing lineart in general. It's, well, like a HG. You get something that looks a fair bit like the original design, but if you really look close you can see differences all over. There's a reason you're paying less, basically.

And like HGs there's the occasional near perfect rendition. Just look at RE/100 Nightingale, it basically nails the original lineart. It's just the original lineart looked like shit.

Because Jegan isn't a popular design (note: it's an enthusiast favourite but doesn't mean it will sell). This is evident from the HGUC release: only 3 / 9 have made it to regular release, the rest are PB exclusives.

Sorry to say but Jegan is likely getting a RE100 instead of MG release simply because not enough people are buying. /m/ will rage, yes, but Bandai apparently don't want your money.

As Derringer at one point pointed out, Bandai wants to continue its business model of continuously re-issuing released kits. The problem they face is that they run out of designs that would fit into this model and their catalogue is getting bigger and bigger (over 3k).

So Bandai comes up with this plan. For the niche design, it's either going onto PB as exclusives for limited issue (thus being excluded from the regular re-issue model) or producing them as a lower cost (which is what is becoming RE100).

Quite to the contrary, the other 3 RE100 (NG, MK-III, GP04) does a decent job in capturing the proposed lineart (note: this is not the same as their MSV counterpart). Dijeh stands out as the only RE100 that pretty much ignored the lineart previously released. (The reason behind this is to everyone's guess. My guess would be due to marketing.)

GP04 is particularly great. If anyone wants to get into RE100, this is the one kit to get.

I don't think thats the reason.The F-91 Jegans did not even have kits when the movie released. The other 6 "variations" are just not different enough to merit a full release. Having 3 HGUC actually shows that it's a fairly popular design. I think it's more economics. Bandai is definitely winding down on MGs except for the most popular designs with interesting gimics. RE/100 and regular series 1/100 is going to replace most MGs from now on.

Like I guess it's cool if it captures the concept art? But that concept art is some god awful bastardized hybrid of the Okawara and Katoki designs that maintains neither of their charms. It's just horrid.

Z-MSV designs are all legitimately rough as fuck and rather impossible to make into 3D as is considering how self-contradictory they can be even. Mk-III is pretty close to what I would expect it to look like had it been animated. (and it's not quite the same as the art anyways)
