The timing to use J is wrong because with the GS it was the perfect opportunity to re-enact his J scenario and have an asshole federation group that wouldn't waste time in trying to capture an alien machine and its pilots while post-2nd OG we are back to the belevolent and a bit useless federation of old.

Is Touya's personality going to be rewritten so he actually enjoys the whole stuff and doesn't need to be guilty tripped into becoming a pilot?

On the GBA it was probably space limitations, and most of that carried over to OGs. Although there a lot of attacks that were missing got folded into existing attacks, like KRO's roar into Sonic Javelin or the Boxer's Catapult Kick into G-Sword Diver.

The Zovork are an interstellar alliance that has two notable factions: the Vorga, which is the principle governing body, and the Zogal who are an extremist faction within Vorga.

You know the former from when they dispatched the Inspectors to scope out the Earth and theories abound about why. It may simply have just been "them Earthers are dangerous" but some people think they were also checking for weird stuff like Crossgates.

Zogal, under the command of Zezernan, invaded Earth with the help of the war merchants Goraikunru (the notPoseidals from Dark Prison). When Shuu blew the lid on the trick Zezernan pulled with the singularity in the Granzon's reactor, the Zovork Privy Council ordered cessation of hostilities and sent Mekibos as a negotiator. Zezernan ignored his orders and kept up his little war.

As of the end of OG2nd, I believe Earth and Zovork are still negotiating a treaty.

Originally, Zovork wanted Earth to become a member state of the alliance if I recall correctly. They sent Zezernan to negotiate with Earth, but he was a really bad choice for diplomat and there were a bunch of higher-ups in the Federation who were looking for an out. Zezernan, who thinks the Earthers are all incompetent and uncivilised apes, wanted Earth to unconditionally surrender. Shuu didn't like this, or the fact that Zezernan rolled up in a captured Aerogater ship to intimidate, so he blew up both sides. This kicked off the DC War, and Zovork went "whoa, those Earthers are all a bunch of nutters".

I was trying to piece together a type of "outer Earth is a crapheap, inner-Earth is some kind of magic fantasy world" kind of thing, and apparently gave a small sub-theme of sentient mechs. Going by what I remembered you talking about, that didn't really make for a lot of traditional Reals, like the Macross or Gundam guys (I decided against Gundam X because I was just thinking things were getting bloated enough at that point).

The only attempted use of the Aura Road is by Shot Weapon, who wants to blow up a lot of nukes in the inbetween to cause horrible things to happen on both sides. If you can find them for cheap, then yes. The first game has very repetitive skill points, but the stages are alright, plus the shuffle the shows pretty well. The other game has better skill points, but stages are pretty boring, and you fight the original enemies so much that you'll be bored of them by stage 10.

Choreography is either pretty average for most shows, but as long as you don't play Z1, or both Z2 games, it won't bother you too much.

Sort of.

This is spoilers and I spoiled them in this post (>>13829463) because anyone who played UX or read the manga knows about it, but if you don't, Linebarrels runs on the premise that humanity DIED once. Like, complete extinction. They created powerful machines called Machina that could do anything for the humans, which activated some internal suicide instinct or some shit and everyone except the scientist who created all Machina - who personally piloted Linebarrel - Emi, and Katou all died. And it also eventually turns out that the pilot of the Glen-Neidr, possibly Soubi, and Ishigami also lived that incident.

Most of the Machina went completely fucking berserk, leading to things like Deus Ex Machina and his giant fucking baby mechs. One faction, led by Evil Robot Abraham Lincoln, decided to save humanity, by recreating it, putting eleven - I think it eventually turned out to be twelve? - Machina on the Earth, and then in theory humans would discover them and use them to fight each other, at which point they'd swoop down, save the day, and create world peace. Sort of like the bad guy from Watchmen. They had an unnamed Machina who's main purpose was intelligence running these simulations, and it came up with a way to make it all work smoothly for everyone.

But then Katou showed up. They had to adjust their plans, but it was still workable... at which point ISHIGAMI showed up. Ishigami's presence blew the plan wide open, but he partnered with the unnamed Machina, becoming its Factor, and the two together created a new plan, to take the machina's "Ally of Justice" idea and make it a human. The Machina, so horrified at the fact that it betrayed the rest of its kind, gave itself a name - JUDA, the traitor.

Cue the entire manga, and Ishigami/Juda's plan coming together to create the ultimate ally of justice... at the cost of their own lives.

The stuff before the timeskip is golden.

The stuff after... they lose focus a lot. Too many ideas, and they focus on the wrong ones, like introducing a new Machina which is entirely pointless because it gets destroyed pretty quickly. (The character with it is also mostly pointless, but had she come without her Machina it would have streamlined her plot well enough)

The main selling points of the post-timeskip stuff is MURDERBITCH finally going completely insane, the backstory on the Decieve pilots and the death of the brother and destruction of the Decieve as done by the murderbitch, and Evil Robot Abraham Lincoln finally explaining the backstory in depth from the Machina perspective, as opposed to Katou's or Linebarrel's limited ones. (And it was absolutely incredible to see how my initial thoughts on Ishigami being best character were actually off - his MECH was the best character all along!)
