OG1 get's localized, and OG2 got localized. Since Moon Dwellers is basically OG3, i think it makes sense for them to localize Moon Dwellers/OG3. One can only hope tho. I hope that rating sign was a sign ;_;

Bandai Namco current bussiness is to expand outside of Japan because their games are selling a fuck ton more in the west/asia/EU specially their PC releases. Do not be surprised if OGMD is released on Asia with english subs or if it even makes it to the west. it's a LOT easier for them to bring an OG game to the west with text translation than fully dubbed.

The GBA was dead at the time and there was no marketing.

The few people who played them and were not SRW fags like us to begin with all love the games. I think it has a chance to be a reasonable niche success now that it's on a current system not at the end of its life.
>>
>>13819359

The small srw community that we have in the west has pretty much all played J thanks to the translation patch.

This is using J.

>>
>>13819359
They have plans to "reintroduce" the plot and characters and such.

That said, I do sorta agree with you in that it'll probably be a commercial failure. The reintroduction within the plot will probably be as bare bones and minimal as possible, leaving many people to the Library for expanded information. In that regard, you'll probably see a lot of people criticising the game for "having to read an in-game dictionary to understand the game" and other such criticism. Dumb criticism, yes; but you can bet your ass that the majority who haven't been in touch with the series will bitch about this.
Likewise, you've got GC and J for marketing purposes. J's mechs will pull in a few heads, but most of J's work will come from the girls. GC will pull in what amounts to nobody. The Exbeins and CompatiKaiser will probably pull in more people than J's mechs and all of GC could do. You'd better hope they have more than J and GC for new faces.
All things considered, they'll have to pull nothing short of a miracle to make this be a not as painful of a flop, let alone a profit.

But I will HAPPILY pray for a future where they prove me wrong.

I really wish that the OG/MX team would pace the bosses better though. It's real.
In fact it's their proxy in Taiwan worked hard enough to contacted Bandai for the game to be launched in traditional chinese, as mentioned in the post below. So 2 years ago Terada started planning the game with stages take place in Taiwan. Staff went there to take pictures to make buildings as close to the real thing as possible.
According to the post Terada knows how hot the game is in Taiwan, and can now finally feel how much love the game gets at the event.

It was always intended for consoles. It just turns out that starting at PC and then down tuning the executable towards the other platforms makes for good engine design.

I'm a teacher, kids don't actually analyze things or consider WHY things are good or bad. They place them and their pleasure at the center of almost every decision. Some time ago someone made a thread about an ebay listing advertising a "VINTAGE GUNDAM ROBOT JAPANESE FIGURE FOR SALE" and the picture was an obvious bootleg of the God Gundam without it's wings and some other missing parts, with the head of the RX-78.

Some anons were amused and made up the entire backstory for it and its pilot, Arnold Ray, and also thought of the Nostalgia Gundam, poorly photoshopped from parts of the Virsago and Epyon, piloted by the Red Rocket, Char Assable.

It was a pretty fucking niche meme for its time even so I'm not sure why some anons suddenly remembered it out of nowhere.

Apparently Bandai Namco Taiwan is translating the game. They have talked with Terada and Bandai representive 2 years ago when they were in Taiwan to get the game localilzed.
>>
Don't mind me, just responding to something in the previous thread.

>>13817564
That's not very fair considering I was on my own trying to get by on very little resources for a very long time.

I had to trim a lot of the fat just to get the demo out. You're right about the teasing being unhelpful, but it was merely a tactic to draw your attention to a local project that did require assistance.

Even with all the stuff I did to make it slimmer, easier to release game, there are flaws. Creating a "Game Maker" out of nothing with unpaid people isn't something that can be done over night.

More people need to volunteer on SRWE to help speed up its development. Alternatively, you can just wait a few years for a proper/stable release of the game to come out.

Patience is key.

Whelp that confirms that there will be no NA/EU release unless NA sees a petition of 50k wanting the game

Steel Dragon squadron will be fighting the unannounced enemy in Taipei stage(s).
Game will focused on SRWJ and SRWGC/XO characters. For those who haven't played those 2 games you will get some background of them in this game. Players will have more fun if they don't know the stories of those 2 games.
They hope the localized game will attract more new chinese players.

>>13820611
If you game over a fucking bunch, the kills stick each time. Fafner, at least, you can still get the last one for (as shitty as he is) if you just have Kazuki absolutely annihilate a Festum stage or two.

I know I've already hit Lu Bu since I've poured at least thirty kills into all three and Sonken's nearly at Ace, to say nothing of the other two, I think I'm either close or at Ishigami, and I have no idea if I'm at Kurusu (probably nowhere close) but I'll be having Kazuki do just that in a few scenarios to make up for it.

Eh, Michio's easy. Let him get kills in one scenario, grind him and Canon on The Shadow Over Innsmouth for a round or two, set him as tactician, and while the Character Acquisition Timeline for UX is pretty shitty right now and doesn't say, I would be correct in guessing that you know on that stage whether he joins or not, right?

I'm going to have him next run, that's no issue. Losing Lu Bu would be an absolutely fucking massive blow, but I've kept up on him. Ishigami, slightly less, mostly since there's one requirement that isn't "go on route A", but he'll be simple enough.

>>
>>13821139

>>
>>13821139
The weird part about it is that they have their own ratings board's 12+ logo, but the ESRB logo is rating pending. If they were slapping logos on there for the hell of it they could at least be consistent on the ratings. And why the ESRB, why not CERO? Or PEGI? Plus all the talk of OGMD being an entry point and having babby mode and attracting new players etc. The circumstances are oddly specific and there's too many fucking questions roght now. All we can do is wait and see.
>>
>>13821167
>why the ESRB, why not CERO? Or PEGI
Well, I guess America is far more relevant for them. Still doesn't explain why would they put the logo there, but...
>>
>>13821167
ESRB because like it or not Asians probably recognize the US' rating system before others considering they are at least aware of E3. Everything else I think is wishful thinking; the "attracting new players" is just trying to shore up flagging sales in Japan.

I'm also a Tales fan and at even though the localization situation now is far better than it used to be, at least Baba actually attended a western con and commented on the western fanbase so I can at least understand why they started being more reliable with Western releases. There's nothing like that with SRW.
>>
>it's just the company which made the PxZ2 international PV re-edited the MD PV to add chinese material and fucked up
>>
>>13821073
Yes.
For a game to be reviewed by ESRB, two essential things need to be sent in: A questionnaire detailing the content of the game and a DVD featuring records of every instance of the applicable information (Fantasy Violence, Suggestive Themes, etc.)

The trademarking process takes place long before these milestones can be reached. It is common for these trademarks to be filed years prior to the item's reveal.
By the way, Super Robot Wars trademark was filed all the way back in 1990, while the first game was released in 1991.
Likewise, Gears of War was released in, what, 2007? It has a trademark existing as far back as 2004.
>>
>>13819424
>Too hard, luck based gameplay

If Journos can go through the modern FE games then they can go through SRW
>>
>>13821167
This reminds me of a story they tell kids around here.

A king called his mightiest warriors and asked them a question.

"What is the greatest virtue?"

The first said: Bravery, for that is what makes armies.

The king said: No, that is not it.

The second said: Faith, for that is what makes countries.

The King said: No, you are also mistaken.

Many attempted to answer, but none seem to have the King's desired response.

Out of the shadows, stepped out a young man. A peasant, unlike the brave warriors covered in golden cloth and holding swords of fine steel, he asked to be given a chance.

And so the King allowed him to.

And so the young peasant responded with: Ing's tight ass I love him so I wish I could constantly pork his buns.

And so the King murdered him for he was the weak link that would've caused the fall of his country.

I think it's very relevant to how things are playing out right now with the ESRB rating and all that.
