I really want to see that pick happen to Mika, the guy has just had zero struggle. Even in Gundam when the MC has been more competent they are always getting shat on by people around them, sometimes just cause those people are being super unfair. Mika just has everything fall into his lap. He gets a gundam he is amazing with day 1, everyone likes him even if he is a dick, two girls after him, he is super special in having 3 bumps and only once has he had a serious problem in battle with the mafia. His flaw is meant to be his weird attitude/personality but this has never caused any problems for him, characters don't even react to it and it means he is good at his job. Plus it isn't even like his weirdness means he has no emotions, he does and will express caring or want. Without any big problems Mika never has to struggle or grow. The only thing that sort of starts him on the path is the most generic "you Lik killing don't you" and we haven't even touched on it for like 3 episodes

Other Gundam MCs can be more annoying, but Mika is the least interesting

There's nothing especially uninteresting about the plot of IBO, not taking into consideration the writing and the untapped potential.

Barbatos' use of the spear/mace thing was pretty good in 2, but not great, and I loved the part where McGillis noticed that Mika couldn't "feel" his backpack with AV. Really the whole series still felt like it had potential. Momentum. Mika was shown to be cold-blooded as hell but sniffed the bracelet and protected it from "seeing" him kill. He had clear sociopathic tendencies. Orga was really, really concerned about how to lead everyone, especially Mika. McGillis and Eins both had a bone to pick with them. Kudelia wanted to become useful and still had time to act on that. Barbatos was going to be a horrific Frankengundam that had to destroy to survive. Grazes were still moderate in number.

IBO has a lot of good ideas. One I really find has a lot of potential is the idea that all the MS frames are relics and what the present people have been doing is just bolting on their own stuff onto them. I wish they furthered that concept more, establishing a few key MS frames but then having wildly different armor designs otherwise. The Gundam MSes were the best example, with the Grazes sadly not being too different from each other.

It would also be an excellent idea to make money. Imagine if we got a full inner frame for the Hyakruen, with Amida's custom getting a different (but stylistically similar) armor design from Azee's (they even have Amida's be a "higher-perfomance" frame in the fluff, so why not extend that to their armor?). That would justify having a separate kit for Amida's Hyakuren, since the current one is just a color palette change with some additional accessories. Hell, you could extend it to the Hyakuri, with it having the same frame but a more streamlined design and the giant jet backpack. I'd imagine there'd be more Hyakuren and Hyakuri sales if this was the case.

I also wish the mobile workers got more of the spotlight. Yeah this is Gundam, so we have to have the giant mechs duking it out. But with how much attention the MWs got in the beginning, you'd think they'd factor in a lot more, with emphasis on combined arms and such. Also selling those little things in packs instead of solo for each accessory kit would be neat.

Maybe it's because of le Okada meme but the script focuses too much on things that no one gives a shit about and not on things that are actually important. That's why it's so slow. Remember that whole episode when they were on Biscuit's grandma's farm with his two moeshit sisters and they spent an entire episode there with Kudelia spazzing out and Char offering chocolate to little girls? Why was that a whole episode? And why did it take 13 episodes for anyone in the Tekkadan to die and then they spend 2 episodes angsting about it to draw it out and lead to that fireworks moment? Shit getting real and people dying so they have to bring themselves back to reality should have happened earlier and that pathos should have been incorporated throughout more episodes instead of just being dealt with in a 2 episode arc.
