It's those grappler arms which remind me of an old sci-fi RPG called Star Frontiers starship supplement Knight Hawks. Some ships could be equipped with grapples to grab another ship, though those grapples were not as useful as the Outlaw Star's arms. But the concept was almost the same. It's kind of revived our old interests in the game and adapt the ship for the RPG.

Well, there actually IS. Or was. Japans put out a resin model kit of the ship back in 1998, but it was already rare then. Some guy from Mexico made recast of it, and when I found it on Ebay - I bought in right away. Pretty nice recast, I've put it away for future build. Recaster also have Melfina's figure, but I did'nt get her.
Sadly, he didn't have anything in stock right now, but you can try to contact him by message on Ebay, here you go:

Yes, and honestly, it was pretty shitty. Not my pic, but you can get view on figures. Ship itself got lot errors in appearance, and need to be repaintd to get proper anime looks. Figures, well... They looks like modern crude chinese bootleg. But they isn't. That's why I wasn't buying that box and was hoping to get resin kit. Too bad there NO ANY kits of Aisha. Not even one. Exactly, most ships came with anchor launchers the very least and the more expensive ones came with varying types of grappler arms.

Pirates casued the proliferation of them due to their ambush/grappling tactics so they could steal your shit regardless of what ranged weapons you had. It's important to note that energy barrier/shield technology is exceedingly rare in the OLS universe, and throw in things like sensor/radio jammers, camera drone systems, anti-missiles... space combat is pretty damn hard.

One cool tech that I noted again in this was the HUD projector. It was basically a tiny complex laser pointer that beamed the image overlay directly into Jean's eyes when piloting. No need for big screens taking up resources, or bulky helmets that distract the operator.

What is neat is that if we really wanted to we could actually build these now, although it still has a number of smaller design issues to be worked out.
