Man, the quarter is such a sleek design and it kind of makes sense to have them, they could station two and just make a ship exclusive to pulling the colony instead of it being a macross and it would still be pretty well defended, or they could do what Frontier did and let the Quarter handle anything that is not really critical, letting the Battle Frontier handle the bigger problems

The main problem with Macross shows is that anything that is not the main Macross or its associated crew tends to get fucked by whatever enemies they're facing.

In all of the battle scenes, you see Valkyries and combat ships being blown up like they're fucking nothing, which makes it hard to take the fights too seriously. Even in the original SDF you see literally over a dozen Valkyries being shot down in each fight, and it's hard to believe that there were that many stationed on the Macross at the time that it flew into space (it's almost as hard to believe that the Macross would have manufacturing facilities or raw resources to produce enough Valkyries to replace the losses).

They have to settle with variations on the theme now. In 7 it was teaching the Protodeviln how to generate Spiritia through singing, and in Frontier it was connecting with and understanding the Vajra. I expect something similar to this in Delta.

Follows the same missteps of all modern anime in that it tries to applease everyone while at the same time appearing shallow and bland as a result. I am 30 episodes into 7 and so far the series has been nothing but escalating insanity. Nothing in Delta's preview has even come close to 7 yet in terms of crazy. On another note, I think more than anything 7 is the series that had the biggest effect on the franchise more than SDF. It'll most probably still be cheaper to send one of those than to send a full Macross. How many confirmed Macross-sized do they have?

The ending of Frontier's movie had quite a number of Quarters appearing to help.

There's like at least 55 colony fleets out there with their own Macross-sized capital ship, take away a few in cases like Battle 7 that got destroyed. Then add about 12 SDFN-class ships that weren't part of full colony fleets.
Maybe about 60-70 full Macross-sized warships?

It's probably cheaper, easier and faster to build a Quarter and give it to them if they really need the firepower of a ship bearing the name "Macross" than to let them wait till a full Macross is constructed and sent over.

There's a lot more room in Japan than people assume, the problem is that it gravitates around large cities like you said, so smaller cities and towns are emptying pretty fast. If you're getting a regular train between places, you'll see plenty of unused flatland, but there's probably some bureacracy that prevents it being used, in addition to what I've said about urban centres.

Japan's biggest problem is the fact that people tend not to die that quickly unless they off themselves. It adds pressure onto the younger generations since they have more old fucks to care for. They're either going to have to keep their oldies working for longer, use more robots or the next generation or two is going to get buttfucked hard.by having to support the country and the elderly.
