It's basically the initial prototype that leads to the zaku I and the missing link between the zaku and the mobile worker. Badically the worker redesigned from the ground up more for combat.

Ral uses a customized one during Professor Minovsky's assassination instead of a new zaku I like the others on his team.

There were Zaku in the first half of 0079, three models. MS-06F, MS-06C, and MS-05. So most types of Zaku were from the 80's. Even if I only mention the High Mobility, the Zaku Kai, the Zaku Sniper, and the Zaku III the 1979's are already outnumbered, and that's just barely scratching the surface.

Yes, but not until 1979 was over. The original series flopped, if you recall, and it was the thee MSG movies that built the fanbase we know today.
There *was* a manga running concurrently with the show back in 1979/80 but it was that really weird super robot one that had all of Zeon's amphibious suits fighting in space and basically had nothing to do with the story of the anime. And I'm pretty sure it only featured the Zaku that were seen in the show.

As far as the anime gives a shit there's only Zaku, commander Zaku, and old Zaku, MSV retcon says there is probably C, F, J, and S type Zaku IIs included in that.

As far as herp derp German goes you could maybe argue the Dom was a German name since they continue that theme in ZZ with the Dreissen and Sturm Dias, it shows up again in CCA with the Sturmfausts and Jagd Doga, and then they go fucking crazy in the OVAs.

If you played any of the non-arcade Gundam games with ammo counters and shit, you realize that MS weaponry is mostly only good for anything that's slow and/or big like tanks, buildings, or MS.

Aircraft and missiles suit the purpose of including tiny, near-useless-for-MS-combat vulcans because they're an ass to hit otherwise with comparatively much-slower fire rate MS-sized weapons.
