The characters are way less intense and the Getter doesn't move with the same frantic motion that does in the manga or OVAs.

Also, check out Devilman vs Getter Robo (which is fine if you haven't read Devilman) and Getter Robo Anthology (a collection of Getter fan comics). Strangely enough, Imaishi's Getter doujin is actually pretty boring and also incredibly cynical, which is weird because I don't like to think of that part of Getter as being TTGL's inspiration.
