Pretty great. You have to go through a bunch of chapters without a Skell, but that just helps give you a sense of scale when you're running around in it and everything is so much smaller than it was on foot. It gets even more so when you get the jetpack and can suddenly go all sorts of places you've seen but had no idea how to reach. Skells aren't all that big by giant robot standards, but they feel massive thanks to the world design.

So I've gotten three Ares 90s for my NPCs and decided to try out a level 60 for myself and wow, the damage decrease is huge. I've been hearing you can build a Skell that can match the 90, but how are you supposed to even get close?

Superweapons probably. And also swapping the parts with better ones. I got some level 60 skell parts from drops that I equip to Excavator and it does boost the stat. Though not much, but I assume there must be better parts to find out there.

How do you get the superweapons trimmed down to a reasonable cooldown? 120 seconds is rough.

For frame I went with a Formula Zero. Normally I prefer heavy Skells, but that massive base accuracy and evasion are hard to resist. Superweapons only cover back and shoulders, what's recommended for arms, firearms and spares?

Go to the west side of Primordia where there's a lake. At the west end of the lake there will be a waterfall over an overhang. The path under the overhang leads into a cave, and just outside the entrance you'll find the senirapa water in a red crystal.

You would freeze in deep space for certain. The body radiates enough heat to drop in temperature in a vacuum absent an external source of more energy, like the sun, over enough time (at least if we're talking about a human body). Loss of heat through convection is only one factor.

If you were in orbit around Earth, floating around in space without a suit and in view of the sun, you'd freeze. You need to be a little closer for energy lost through black body radiation and energy gained from the sun to cancel out. You also need to be spinning, because the human body doesn't transfer heat all that well (being mostly water), so if you were stationary, the side facing the sun would fry and your ass would freeze.

The timeframe for frying is much shorter than the one for fully freezing, but we are also ignoring the loss of energy through means other than radiation which would realistically be undergoing a body in space (like the evaporation of liquids; if you've ever sprayed a can of compressed air for a long time, or held it upside-down to shoot out the liquid, you've experienced how decompression = cooling).

Is Mia worth recruiting? Completionism aside.

Is it possible to change a Skell's finish? Bottom right says the finish is gloss, which makes me think you can somehow change it to matte. I can't think of any other reason why they would put that there.

Finally got my Ares 90

....Now... what to do

Run around and kill most of the Tyrants, there's only a few that an Ares 90 with two or three Slayer parts can't one-shot.

I personally kept grinding for more until I had three of them to give my squadmates, I might build a fourth to tide me over until I can get a super-Skell going.

A big thing is that now you can handle Yggralith Zero if he's around, an Ares 90 that stays in the air over him is practically indestructible and can easily break all his parts to rack up RP and reward tickets.

Protip: the probe's RIGHT in front of a level 59 enemy that aggros on sight, build at least 1000TP, go behind the enemy and use Shadow Walker (the FMJ aura that nullifies enemy detection when used from behind), then cancel the fight with B and you can simply walk to the probe undetected.

The final boss room in this game is more bullshit than in the first game somehow.

I started and finished that final fight on foot. The main story trio was already maxed out at 60, and I had skills to keep their TP, as well as my own, up through the duration, As soon as one Overdrive went down, another one was going up. Pretty much worked it the same way as when I had to deal with the cat people. Just get ready to overdrive and use every spin skill I had available alongside any limb destruction skills. Stream Edge, Blossom, and Rising blade are wonderful workhorse skills for Longsword.
Seeing as I just finished the game myself, quick question.
Will I be able to add lao back into my party later via Affinity mission?

Have you tried ever PLAYING as Dunban? Because you can set up some insane art combos that loop into one-another and are a ton of fun. Other than that you could go all-girl team with speccing Fiora up for dragging the aggro with high DPS and playing as Melia because her AI is dumber than a brick, with Sharla keeping you both alive

Tempest Kick turns him 180 so you can use Thunder right after it. I think one of his slashes also moves him through the enemy so you can use Thunder after that too.

Fucking hell, okay, so I finally unlocked Definian's Downfall. In case it helps anyone else: once you do the Professor B and Alex storylines, plus I think a few others, there'll be a woman off to the left of the barracks along the wall towards the East Gate. Talk to her, she'll call herself the town helper and vanish. This unlocks the Ambush quest at the console, which leads into the final quest chain. It took me weeks to figure out you had to do that.

Definian's Downfall is also balls-hard if you're not ready, since it's no Skells allowed. Bring Elec, Beam, and Gravity resistance.

I went in half-assed with my treasure sensor gear and one of my party members at 40. Most fights weren't had, but a lot slower than they needed to be, and the one with Gravity attacks pretty much instagibbed me because I had heavy armor on. I'm sure it'll be fine when I do it with proper armor.

I can't even comprehend what they were thinking make every Skell skill have 30-60 second cooldowns and removing secondary/tertiary cooldowns entirely. You can never respond to soul voices because your skills are always down and there's no real incentive to save them up because you're just wasting damage by not using them. Plus none of the Skell skills really combo together like the ground skills do. Skell combat really boils down to G-Buster, Drone, Wait, Repeat Until Dead more often than not.

On the upside, it feels good to G-Buster enemies who would otherwise give you trouble.

I'm about ready to craft my first level 60 mech that isn't Excavator, and I have no idea which one I should be aiming for, since I've been running Amdusias all game but Excavator already is basically Amdusias: Thermal Edition. Should I go for a light model and try for an Evasion build or go Mastema long range or what? What do the medium mechs even specialize in?

Medium Skell armour gets bonuses to Ranged/Melee attack and accuracy, as opposed to Heavy armour which gets bonuses to damage types (Thermal, energy etc). They're better for specialising in either melee or ranged, whereas Heavies are more balanced across a couple of damage types.

If you want to build something that can one-shot Telethia, you want a heavy since the bonuses from damage type ups are huge. If you want survivability, Formula Zero is about as close as you'll get to matching the ridiculous Evasion of the Ares 90.

Lailah's gimmick is that it can keep up Overdrive all the time with its 6k GP and makes it almost invincible since its Overdrive makes it take less damage, regenerates its HP and protects it from debuffs. It doesn't do as much damage as other Skells but it takes less grinding to set up.

Formula and Verus can stack evasion to the point that nothing can touch it but frankly I don't think it's worth it since all of the evasion augs take an absurd amount of grinding.

The super one-shot Skell build is a Mastema with the Zenith Cannon and the armor from the Amdusias and damage augments out the ass. You can oneshot everything except Telethia which takes two shots and Gradivus which is better for ground builds anyways.

Honestly you can kill everything in the game with just an Ares 90 and the right augments so I don't see much point going past that unless you don't like how it looks or something. Also, literally the only level 90+ bosses that would require any specialized augments and can't be fought on foot are Telethia, Vortice and Terminus.
