What did everything use for propellant in G-Reco?
>>
the pilot's compressed shit
>>
>>13714540
Minovsky and photons. Pay attention.
>>
>>13714577
Yeah I know it had MIVOSKY FLIGHTS but not everything. How do photons work for propulsion anyways? Does that apply to everything?
>>
>>13714587
PAY ATTENTION!!!!
>>
>>13714587
It just works snappy F
>>
>>13714540
>snapfit-kun proves yet again how retarded he is
Why do people like you continue to post on this board despite how many times you've proven that you don't belong here?

>>13714577
Pretty sure the mobile suits didn't use Minovsky reactors, as that shit was considered taboo.
>>
>>13714587
Stick to A/Z
>>
>>13714595
Most places used photon batteries for power, and were banned from reverse-engineering the allowance they were given, that was the entire issue with the stranglehold the Capital had over the rest of the nations.

But in the first freaking episode they talk about the Minovsky Magnet Ray Field around the tower, the tower cars clearly are using it, and suits that pass outside certain range of it start falling. So yes, minovsky propulsion is still a thing.
>>
>>13714587
Photons do work for propulsion, but they're horribly inefficient. We're talking about consuming 300 megawatts per Newton of thrust. So either it's some other technology that gets called "photon thrusters" for some technical reason, the mobile suits have terrifyingly powerful energy sources, or the writers have no idea how science works. I'm guessing it's the third one.
>>
>>13714637

GOD, and humanoid war robots are SOOOOO unrealistic
>>
>>13714646
I can only suspend my disbelief so much. Believing that the giant robot is a practical combat platform is one thing. Believing that the giant robot's thrusters output enough energy to destroy small countries is another thing entirely.
>>
>>13714661
But by the end they're using "photon torpedos" as balls of light that hole-punch things to death. Not to mention beams that take the shape of tree branches and centipedes.
>>
>>13714681
Yes, which lends credence to the "the writers don't know science" theory.
>>
>>13714540
Incest
>>
>>13714540
The Will to impregnate your sister is enough to power it up
>>
>>13714540
Photon batteries for power. Ultracompressed water stored in balls for propellant.
>>
>>13714540
A special propellant funneled through special systems in the special giant robot that fights in spaces filled with special particles that conveniently make any conventional or even semi-realistic weapon useless.

Just like they always have in UC, for the past 36 years.

>Snapfaggot in charge of not being retarded.
>>
>>13716521
>Ultracompressed water stored in balls for propellant.

Yeah but how can you use water for propellant? It doesn't sound very efficient.
>>
>>13719342
Newton's third law you vapid cunt.
>>
>>13716521
>>13719342
Water doesn't compress.

Even if you were to push the water molecules together. They would just stop moving and lose energy, becoming cold. Which would cause them to turn solid and expand.
>>
>>13714540
All mobile suits have magical propellant tanks that never run out.

pretty sure early uc used regular old chemical rockets for propulsion.
>>

>doesn't pay attention
And I'm not even surprised.
>>
>>13714661
>Believing that the giant robot's thrusters output enough energy to destroy small countries is another thing entirely.

It's believable for the G-self though.
>>
>>13719342
>Yeah but how can you use water for propellant?

You've never seen one of those water jetpack things?
>>
>>13719930
That explains it.
>>
>>13719431
>Water doesn't compress.
>he doesn't remember the lake coming out of that little ball
>>
>>13719876
Yeah and that doesn't come close to explaining the maneuvering power and flight time of UC mobile suits.
>>
>>13719980
They could be using the same principles that nuclear rockets and jets operate by. Pass your propellant trough a heat exchanger from the reactor. The heat causes the gas to expand rapidly and escape from the thruster nozzle, pushing the engine along. It's not know for power, but it is supposed to be rather efficient. Efficiency improves as the temperature differential gets higher between the stored fuel and expelled fuel

not for mobile suits. That's why "suits that pass outside a certain range of it start falling":
the minovsky field described in ep1 is strictly for capital tower itself.

just add anime dust and it does.
it's not scientifically accurate and if you expect it to be you're going to have a bad time.
>>
>>13720037

This just reminds that before the show Tomino talked about there being an ocean in space between the Earth and Venus or something like that, because people found that they needed that visual to ground themselves even when living in space. I'm disappointed we really got nothing out of that, because the concept of a huge pool of water just floating in space makes a pretty fantastic visual.
