From the looks of the concept art Aida and bellri were meant to be a lot more androgynous. Also I think I read here that apparently someone had to plead with tomino to give Aida bigger boobs and make her look more like a woman. One funny thing I noticed though is that on one of her character reference sheets one of the pages has a picture of a small pair of boobs and a large pair with the large pair crossed out. He also apparently told yoshida to redraw her bd cover when he made adidas boobs too big as well
