The US server had upwards of 100 people last year. It wasn't until shit slowed down with us not getting updates on time and then Korea going months without updates that people quit. Different publishers. SDG NE actually published and controlled by Bamco Korea, developed by some contract company.

SDGO was published and developed by Softmax, who had licensed the right to use the Gundam franchise.

No idea if there's any politics involved with Bamco being greedy and trying to steal the spotlight (just look at the name), especially given the timing, but Softmax didn't close SDGO to replace it with this inferior title.
