LOGOS was consistently meh and unengaging and showed that the franchise woyld not have survived if not for Akino. If it gets any appraisal its for being better than EVOL which isn't much of an accomplishment.

With only two episodes left Comet Lucifer is looking to crash and burn. Everything about this feels like it shouldn't have been made at all.

Anyone who read the manga should already know how The Origin ends or at least this flashback portion the biggest thing that could happen is a full adaptation being announced after it ends.

IBO is not even halfway done but its looking to be the most unremarkable Gundam installment since X.

Exodus is a rarity in itself, a sequel to a mecha anime that's better than its predecessor, you just don't get products like these anymore let alone with four years of development between them and with 3 episodes left there's very little it can do to fuck itself given how much of a stellar job its been doing up to this point.

A/Z is on the opposite spectrum of Fafner, it just got worse and worse as it went on starting from the first season and just would not let up despite having everyone's attention. If you weren't smart enough to bail after that shitty bait and switch of a season finale then you deserved the shitty ending at the end of season 2.

Fafner Exodus, there really is nothing that came close to it quality wise in terms of mecha and maybe even anime in general this year. Tow will really have to fuck up ending to make me retract my statement but even then it would still be a metric ton better than the crap we got this year.

The NUN pilots were just in awe of him because he's an Ace Pilot who managed to defeat Polaris.

Canon and Maya listen to what he has to says because they crave his dick.

Sakura fucking punches him for the inane garbage he tells the new pilots that ends up biting one in the ass.

And the whole "Nobody would be happy if you died" is true AND is directly coming from his own personal experience and doubts when he was the only pilot.

And he does get a hair cut and then as you get further in you get to watch Maya basically go "Yeah yeah, spout your gibberish whatever. I'll just be happy that you're thinking about me on this hell march we're on now"

The series deals a lot with its own introspective themes, that's been a big part of it from the start. All of the talk of coexisting with the Festum and understanding eachother kind of dives into that territory too. Kazuki only has a few years left anyway, best to humor the poor guy.

If the show just doesn't work for you that's fine. Fafner fans can get pretty defensive but personally I respect that it won't click with everybody. Different strokes.

Origin: a bit unfair to compare OVA to a TV series. But yes, 2nd episode of Origin might as well be the best Gundam thing I've watched since Turn A.
IBO: really well and competent as well. Don't undetand why people call it dull or inremarkable. Sure, Kudelia has a personality of a log, but everyone else is doing pretty well, plus mecha designs are gorgerous.
A/Z: I wish I did spent the time I wated watching A/Z on something else. But OST is awesome.
Exodus: hands down, the best mecha TV show in the last years. And, not counting Origin, clear winner of this year.
Concrete Revolutio: awesome, but not Exodus-level awesome. CR is in it's own category.
All in all, this year was really good. Granted, I haven't watched Comet Lucifer, Heavy Object and Logos.
