What mecha shows feature Ireland or even Irish characters? Gundam is one, but I don't like it's portrayal of the country in the original MSG era or 00. Dublin has an "English Quarter" for some reason in the former, and the IRA are still fighting in 00. Do the Japanese even know what they're doing? Doesn't seem like it.

Ireland gets obliterated in ZZ Gundam.
Best Fafner is Irish.
A character from Fafner is from Ireland, but I think Ireland was invaded/decimated by aliens.
She's a pilot and then a mech engineer. She attempts to give the mechs she gives names from Irish mythology, but the Japanese kids who pilot them complain that the names are too hard to remember and she has to give them Japanese names instead.

Indeed.

>attempts to give the mechs she builds names from Irish mythology

I remember that. But did the entire country get wiped out because of the colony drop?
>>13594851
No, I think it pops up again in Victory
>>13594826
That's pretty funny.
>>13594851
Considering it's probably equivalent to small asteroid impact, yes, and most of Great Britain would have been wiped out too
>>13594870
>and most of Great Britain would have been wiped out too
Couldn't have been. Didn't they mention taking Kamille to Glasgow to try to get some life into him?

No.
If you watch it, the colony that falls on Dublin just sticks in the ground and stays there (pic related, from about a minute after the colony stopped moving). It wasn't going nearly the speed Iffish was when it hit Sydney. The city itself got smooshed, nothing else happened. The colony doesn't even break apart from the impact, it just gets damaged afterwards by a battle.

The concept of science has been dealt a serious blow.
The ZZ Colony drop was not very damaging from how the show portrayed it. The colony fell on the city but the damage was limited to the city from what I recall.

The world is not square-cube, anon.

The fuck did you just say?
What do you guys think about the IRA still fighting 500 years from now and no united Ireland? Seems pretty stupid to me, even Star Trek has a united Ireland.
>>13594924
Physics is dead, yo
(I don't have the screencap, someone post p10x)
There's an event in ZZ in Ireland.
There's a character in Fafner that was Irish
Lockon was an Irish (I think he's more Northern Irish due to the shit they went through)
I think another one i can think is Jerril from Dunbine. I think she was Irish and she goes Hyper form there too if i not mistaken.

I'd fuck an Areolae Schenburger.

FUCK OFF WEEB

I don't think it's unrealistic. The North has been at peace for about a decade now, but there's still a lot of tension there that has threatened to escalate on a couple of occasions because there's deeply entrenched loyalties on both sides in close proximity with a lot of bad history and that shit doesn't just disappear over night. Especially after roughly 800 years of occupation.
The best outcome that can be hoped for is status quo, because if the North is declared firmly British or firmly Irish once more then the other side is going to kick things off in a big way once more to make their dissatisfaction heard and there'll probably be at least another few decades of troubles. If things last out a few more decades without any kind of troubles then there's a hope that the loyalties will start to cool and people will just become tired off politicians instead of loyal to them, but even that's only a chance. If anything does disrupt them though, it'll probably be back to the same old shit that was going on for 70 odd years following Ireland's secession from Britain.

Even so, IF it landed like that, the Irish now have the largest tower on earth.

It basically sat around for like, 30 minutes and then fell apart. Like literally, it loomed over everyone for a great long ass time in one episode, wind howling and sky dark while Karaba tried to evacuate the city, then the colony landed at the end of the episode. And then the entire next episode was a battle in and around the colony just sitting there, and when the battle finished, the colony just... disintegrated.
