However Exodus has had some great tracks too. For example the battle theme in episode 19 made me more scared for the island than ever, attacked by 2 enemies who basically threatened to chop the submarine in half. It is interesting though, island side hasn't had a clearly defined protagonist (not that it's necessary). It doesn't really matter. That said, despite her lack of screentime, she's gotten a ton of good scenes.

Speaking generally, and maybe I'm just biased, but Fafner does a really excellent job of managing it's scenes. In any given minute there are a ton of things either being referenced, being set up, or just "happening"

Pixiv is producing a steady output of homo. It's not as much as shows like A/Z got, but it's a solid amount. I haven't been following Twitter. To the fujo eye, Exodus hasn't really turned down the gay. It's just replaced DA's drama about Soushi and Kazuki figuring out how to relate to each other with Exodus's maximum cozy of Soushi and Kazuki being an old married couple.

Incidentally, one trend I've noticed lately is to draw Soushi with both Orihime and Tsubaki, like they're his twin little sisters.

Mark Nicht has a theme too, that shows up first in H&E, and shows up a lot in Exodus, like during the climax of the island battle in episode 20. I love how it syncs up with Mimika's last gou spark as a human. I miss her ;_;

I think the Sein theme fits the old OST more, while Nicht fits the direction of the new OST. I like both. DA's music sounded more melodic and personal, while Exodus's music makes the fights come alive and feel dangerous and threatening. Both are great.

They've only had three one-on-one conversations this whole series: when Maya sorties in the first episode, a short one about Kazuki not going on the Srinegar mission at Rakuen, and when Maya chews him out for letting Kazuki get in the robot. A thing I noticed about how much Sein grew in power with the limiters removed.
In DA he needed a sustained beam attack to kill one Pleiades Type.
In Exodus he blasts dozens of them with a single swipe.
