Fafner is just a show that you really have to work to get into. It's got Hiraiface which people here really kneejerk against, there's a ton of material to watch if you want to catch up, the first season is from the dreaded era of early digital animation and looks pretty bad, you actually have to watch about half the first series to get an idea of how it is because of the writer change stuff, the later parts have CG mechs (another kneejerk)...
So if you actually manage to do all the work to catch up, you were probably going to like it in the first place.

But for the record, no, not everyone likes it here. I've seen quite a few hate on it. It's just that it's simply not popular enough in the west to warrant regular threads about how you think it was shit and everyone who likes it is retarded like more major franchises.

So? The main reason why 0079 is such a beloved classic is because of its cast and story, hell even on /m/ 70% of the discussion is about characters not robots.
