We keep living each day out of hope for the future. Technology moves rapidly and advances are made all the time even though we don't see them.

We can't give up because we never know what's coming. Maybe we will be cool mecha pilots someday, or something even better, Or maybe we won't. Regardless, we're just hanging on to see all the cool shit humanity is going to do and it's the fact that we never know for certain that keeps us interested.
