So what characters do you want to see in Garo Retsuden?
We need some Tsubasa love

It's more reasonable to go for Retsuden instead of a full season focusing on a single MC.
That way the world can be expand a lot faster than series based stories. Also easier to bring in more new characters.

Could someone point me toward a reliable source that confirms Konishi being sick? It doesn't even have to reliable, any Japanese source will do. I haven't been able to find a single Japanese talking about the issue and I seriously didn't heard that when Gonza was reading the letter (although my atention my have slipped over it).

You might get a TWO-minute recap for that purpose. The Japs generally don’t seem to care much for bringing people up to speed if they haven’t been following along. I believe they have mentioned earlier about the distribution licensing for HnK has been acquired by companies from different countries. From there TV Tokyo and the anime production committee has enough funding to throw into the project. There is actually no validation for the movie since it is part of the HnK deal.

Here’s an idea: if ‘Zero’ does turn out to be his search for Kōga and Kaoru, who would like to see a final or final-ish battle against a horror-possessed Kōga (presumably in the form of some demonic mockery of his Garo armour, à la Sonshi)? For that matter, if it was a denouement fight like those against Kiba and Sigma, you could have Rei similarly pop his one-off upgrade against the big bad horror thing, and then just the cape of max level awesomeness against the possessed Kōga. They fucking did it in ‘YoTM’. Ryūga’s character in the ‘Gold Storm’ movie was a logical extension of his character arc in the previous series. It wasn’t exactly where he was in episode twenty-four, but it shouldn’t have been. People who undergo transformative experiences don’t just fucking stop changing when the experiences end, they take awhile for all the changes to settle in, and that’s exactly what we see in a more mature and sensible Ryūga in the movie.

I’m fine with it having very little contiguous plot but it would be nice if each time period’s characters had some thin thread stringing together most of their stories and a suitable big bad to kill in the last couple episodes, and that’s kinda hard if you’re working in three different time periods. Again, I really liked this episode, Guren no Tsuki isn't exactly amazing, but it does some interesting stuff, and I'm really liking most of the cast.
The only weird thing about this episode for me was in how quickly Yorinobu accepted Raikou as his older brother, seemed a little rushed. It's interesting how they describe his training to inherit the Golden Armor, it's very obvious that he is going to become a Knight, but I wonder how it will happen.
One last side note: Man that BGM during the fight was metal as hell, I was nearly headbanging
