I never expected that they'd off Tsutomu of all people. I mean, it got fucking DARK once Subete became the villain, but I never expected the funny one to die after everything was going so well for him.

They've threatened it before with Tsugumi and Zessica.

They've foreshadowed it before and followed up with Glen and Schrade.

This is really the first time they've blindsided us. Things were going well for Tsutomu, we were all watching for Akira to get erased or Kent to get shot doing something heroic.

And there he is shot. He's fine too, no one dies of a gutshot unless they die instantly or spend half the episode bleeding monologue.

Then when things are getting too real and dark, here he comes, bringing the sun on a string. He takes the chill out of the bones of the entire cast and cuts down the MJBK as an afterthought.

And then he dies, rather poetically mind you, for destroying the laughter MJBK, setting to rights the hollow word.
