OP is right. Most of Zeta sounds like someone with no real musical background just fiddled around with a synthesizer board until something vaugely resembling music came out. 0079's soundtrack may have been cheesy, but it was also catchy and memorable.

People don't like both 0079 and Zeta's soundtracks? Awful lot of shit taste going around. Of all of Zeta's problems, the soundtrack was not one of them.

I don't like Zeta myself but the soundtrack was fine. Nothing remarkable and inferior to 0079 but not bad.

Surreal to find this thread. I JUST finished Zeta Gundam, 0079 is probably my favorite thing ever, and I thought Zeta was almost as good, why all the hate?

Funnily enough, I thought the soundtrack was fucking incredible. It had a great 80's vibe - the orchestral suites were fantastic, some great synth and stuff. Again, 0079's 70's funk / love ballad / trumpet stuff was sliiiightly better, but I'm surprised to see so much hate for Zeta overall.

I liked both

0079 had better fight scenes
better soundtrack
better character designs

Zeta had better mech designs
Better openings/endings
Better protagonist
Better Art style/animation

I still prefer 0079 but zeta is good too
