So funnily enough, after asking how people had Symphogear dreams so easily, I ended up having them twice in a row. The first one had Hibiki in it but that is all I remember. I thought that must mean she's subconsciously my favorite since I've never been able to pick one. But then I had another one where I was Maria, so maybe Gungnir is my favorite. I was playing an MMO of some sort which looked like a combination of a bunch of different stuff I've played, and in typical Maria fashion I fucked up and died a stupid death (so maybe I have a bit of Kanade in me too). Of course since it was a game, I respawned, unlike Kanade, but I had dropped all my items on death because that is how it works. There was a chance of getting them back if I got there before they disappeared but anyone could pick them up and most of them were untradeable event items so I was pretty fucked. On top of that it placed me in a tutorial area so that it would take longer to get back there and I turned into a pink Maria dog and the game went sort of 8-bit. A game may not seem like a big deal, but in a dream, a game is real life, so I was freaking out. I woke up with a headache. In conclusion, dreams are weird.

I don't have a source myself but it'd make sense that they were thinking ahead but then had to end it abruptly and wrap everything up with a ribbon.

I would have liked for Shirabe to get a scar as well, it could have lead to some really sweet moments between them. Kirika constantly down about it and never wanting to mention it and Shirabe having to be extra-sweet to convince her it's not her fault and she forgives her, or other things like that.

Plus, a back-scar is probably the easiest way to permanently disfigure a character without breaking marketability 'cuteness.'

Those things showed through in GX itself, too. You didn't have to read the keywords to understand him.

I guess it's just that most of it was merely implied, and since Symphogear is so fond of exaggerated larger-than-life characters whose motivations and personalities are clearly visible, his characterization slipped under the radar for some fans.

I'm imagining the set-up for this being Hibiki letting Maria borrow Gungnir for some roleplay, where Maria is the evil queen who kidnapped the helpless princess (Chris drew the short straw that night), who is then defeated (sexually) by the handsome prince (Tsubasa in this case), who then makes sweet love to her bride while the evil queen is forced to sub for both of them.

Hibiki has absolutely no idea that this is what her Gungnir is being used for.

When you get down to it, that's part of his cowardice.

There are many people like that, who regardless of how bad they feel or how in the wrong they are will avoid the hard truth of the matter and instead focus on their own perspective because directly confronting their mistakes is uncomfortable and frightening.

But then you get those weird scenes where some slight alterations could've made Akira look way less scummy. If, for example, the episode 8 scene cut the bill thing I doubt it would've gotten as much flak as it did even if the rest of the scene played out the same.

People can say "well he didn't have enough time" all they want but they easily could've cut a ton of stuff in order to make characters who Kaneko wanted us to see as sympathetic get more opportunities to endear us to them.

I kind of want to count up all the superfluous scenes of GX to see approximately how many minutes were flab that could be cut. Fun scenes like Stroganoff do not count.

This paragraph in the interview interested me.

One of the reasons why she was bullied in middle school is because she was a useless lazyass that "had no redeeming qualities". Miku noted that before coming to Lydian, Hibiki never tried to do anything seriously. Coming late to and not paying attention to class have always been what she does even before gear stuffs happened. She relies on Miku to take her notes and everything.
