I've finished up Decade with Movie Wars 2010. All 31 episodes and all of the movies, even the Chou Den-O crossover. It wasn't the monstrosity I've always heard it was, but it was pretty fucking mediocre and every time it reached some real heights, like World of Hibiki and World of Black/RX it immediately fell through with the next episode, and then it just fell apart completely at the end.

Still, the cast were all pretty fun, especially Grandpa and Kiva-la's interactions in the background. Hell towards the end I went from hating Kaitou to begrudgingly liking him and wanting more.

But that ending just wasn't satisfying at all. Oh well.

Finally just got around to watching Ghost.

I can't help but laugh at the fact that the bike is such an after thought in Kamen Rider now that it literally just appears out of nowhere. I mean I love that the bike transforms with him just like in Agito or J, but where did the bike even come from? How the hell was he even riding a bike if he was dead in that scene? Did everyone else just see a riderless bike zipping around by itself since they couldn't see him? Why even bother wearing a helmet and gloves if he's a fucking ghost?

That aside, the death-horse bike is pretty baller. It just saddens me a little that half the namesake of the show is little more than an obligatory afterthought now. I mean I'm not asking for constant bike stunts all the time, but at least pretend the bike matters a little. The show is afterall called Kamen RIDER for a reason.

The W/Fourze/Drive team are the only ones who give a toss about continuity. Now that Drive is no longer the current show everything goes back to pretending it's the only one that ever happened, except once a year when the previous show is acknowledged for a crossover movie and once a year when EVERY TOEI TOKU EVER happened in the same world without explaination, for one movie.

That's very rarely true. Many Sentai stories are imcompatible and only a handful of shows ever acknowledge others. And it's the same for Rider nowadays.

As mentioned above, the guys in charge of Kamen Rider W, Fourze and Drive actually decided to Give A Fuck and try to create a consistant continuity for W-onwards but every other show has completley ignored it because writers have their own special snowflake ideas that they don't like to share or something. I don't know, I blame OOO's writer for this shit. The OOO movies fit into the W-verse but they don't fit into the OOO TV timeline itself.

As for classic Rider (Showa stuff), short version is that it all happened in a single timeline. Long version is that there were a couple of reboots that were retconned into sequels.

Episode 19 was a great episode all around though. Still hoping for the mid-20s episodes to improve, SoaringSquirrel was a good step in the right direction.

Anyone else ever annoyed at how women, no matter how competent they are supposed to be, never accomplish anything without men's help in showa? I'm not meaning to sound like a tumblrina or anything, it's just annoying when fucking Taki can jump a 10 foot iron fence without a second thought but the female agent he works with can't dispatch more than two Shocker mooks before inevitably getting captured. Hell, she can't even pull herself out of the water without Taki coming over and pulling her up. It just gets kind of stupid sometimes.

There were those cameos in the webvideos in Fourze episode 2 and the Wizard 2 parter at the end. Ghost will be running during the actual anniversary date, so we might something there.

Why does it seem like Decade is a popular rider?

They've made 3 versions of his Figuarts already. I don't remember the last time a rider received this many updates for a toy.

I don't get the series' story either. So Tsukasa is a random guy who travels to alternate Rider universes and has to beat them up as Decade so that all the alternate worlds won't merge together and destroy everything?

Isn't that saving the alternate universes and his own? Why is he called the destroyer? Who is Narutaki? Who is the real villain in the show? Why is the TV series ending so bad (durr Diend shot Decade in the face, the end)

Tsukasa's not random, apparently he was preselected by Dai-Shocker (Hence why he's a general Mr. Perfect) to be the Destroyer of Worlds. His big goal was to connect everything in order to destroy it according to Dai-Shocker, and ni the movies he goes with it to the point he becomes the next Great Leader.

No one knows who Narutaki is, we possibly would have gotten an explanation in the original cut of his movie, but we didn't.

And the real villain is Toei for allowing a change in writers.

There's also how they forced the Beat Riders from street gangs to street dancers (although if they had kept gangs, it seems like Gaim would be even closer to Devil Survivor...), and after that, also cut what was supposed to be their set up in order to jump direct into the action, which leaves them without a proper origin in the show, making the importance that people give those groups feel unearned at times in those early episodes.

Most Riders other than a couple Showa ones recieve two or more Figuarts due to form changes and the like. Decade got three originally to include his base form, Violent Emotion which is basically the same but still, and Decade Complete. The newest release is part of the Shikocchou Seihou line of premium Figuarts, which aims to bring older, out of date releases up to a new, much higher standard of quality with more accurate proportions, a shit ton more detail, and if pic related is correct, a more suit-accurate color scheme the previous releases failed to capture.
