I feel bad now for not having watched Gargantia when it came out. It's a nice show.

Also, Chamber is bro-tier.

>>12206940
Yeah, it was a nice show
First minutes trick you with the space battle, but then it turns into waterworld with mecha-bro

I kept expecting a reference to Waterworld, just one.

Land being somewhere out there, a map on someone's back, something.
>>
>>12207037
I think the entire setting is a huge reference to it
>>
>>12207043

Yeah but that's only because Waterworld is a generic "ocean world" setting.
>>
>>12207037
You could say the whole "moving ship armada that also functions as a city" is a reference to the Smoker's ships.
>>
I will admit, I first watched the show because it's going to be in Z3.2, and I wanted context.

I'm glad I did, and honestly it's not like there's much battle-wise one can really adapt from the show since it's so laid-back. You could show every fight and it would probably only take up 3 or 4 stages at best.

>I first watched the show because it's going to be in Z3.2,

That's why I started on it, too. Ended up watching the entire series (and the two BD episodes) in two days, last week. I really wish I'd been following it with a friend of mine while it was airing.
>>
>>12207074
>>12207477
Don't look now, but the epilogue's final episode came out today (although only the first got subs so far).
>>
>>12207512
Nice. I didn't watch the OVA yet, because I was waiting for both halves to be released.
>>
>>12207074
They could probably have the pirates be a recurring villain in water stages.
>>
Comfy as fuck show, considering there's an interstellar war going on.
>>
>>12208943
There WAS a interstellar war going on.

As Chamber states in one episode, he's thousands of years away form anything Ledo used to know.

To be fair, that doesn't necessarily mean the war is over. But that doesn't mean the war is still going either.

It's an awfully good thing that SRW Z is a cluster fuck of multidimensional malarkey.

They showed a map of Earth in the background.
>>
>>12209007
>thousands of years away
Light years, not years. There was never any indication of time travel.
>>
>>12211920

Well, engaging in semantics, he is still right to use that term of measurement.

Hypothetically, it would take Chamber and Ledo thousands of years to return to Alliance space without some sort of warp drive or wormhole.
>>
Anyone here have that uncensored version of this show? WIth everyone getting butt nekkid?

Fanmade of course
>>
Probably one of the worst of shows of the year it aired. Insultingly bad. I am pissed I even watched all of it, and even more pissed they decided to make more.
>>
>>12211994
But that's not Valvrave
>>
>>12211994

>Probably one of the worst of shows of the year it aired

This is a joke, right?
>>
>>12212033
No? Gargantia was hugely disappointing
>>
>>12211909

That isn't really a secret though, Chamber tells us in episode 1 that this is earth.
>>
>>12211994
>>12212062

Why do I have a feeling you judged the show on what you wanted it to be rather than what it is, which is never fair.
>>
>>12212089
But we never actually see land in the whole show
The map shows there is land, instead of being entirely covered in water
>>
>>12212098
I have a feeling he hates the show because he hates the Urobutcher
>>
>>12212171
Didn't Gen Urobutchi only do the first episode before getting replaced by somebody else, though?
>>
>>12212194

He wasn't replaced, he was only there for the first episode to begin with. He basically was there to set up the concept and setting.
>>
>>12212194
He wrote the first and last episode, and was in charge of overseeing the rest of the scripts. You can tell where he left people to their own devices and where executive meddling happens (some of the fanservice in particular is very un-Urobuchi-ish fanservice).

>>12212062
I wouldn't call it bad but Gargantia was a "good" show that could have been easily been a "great" show. It can be frustrating to watch because of this.
>>
Just finished it. I wasn't a fan of Urobuchi's obsession with shitting on utilitarianism that he puts in everything, but I digged the almost Iron Giant-esque message of choosing what to do with your life.
>>
Oh also, Chamber needs to win some kind of award for greatest bro of all time.
>>
>>12206940
It was shit. The only show that season that wasn't shit was Valvrave, and anyone that says otherwise is too stupid to understand it.
>>
>>12212388

Is this the new ebin meme?
>>
>>12207037
This isn't the Super Best Friends, bro. Those references don't happen that often, even in media playing homage to it.
>>
>>12212394
But anime loves referencing stuff, it's just most of the time people don't catch it.
>>
>>12212390
he's right though.
>>
>>12212420
No you aren't samefag.
>>
>>12212420
>he
>>
>>12211909

So in this future the only land that is above water is land that was about 13-14000 feet above sea level current?
