Alright, I realize this isn't the best place, but i have to ask. So, I really didn't like the first few episodes of Greco. It would have been alright, but I felt like the genuinely awful pacing ruined it. Also the animation looked like it was at like 20fps or something, but thats a minor gripe. Now all this in mind, do you think I should pick this show back up? I genuinely love all the mech and character designs, and I really want to love this show. Now that it's 10 episodes later, do you think I should give it another shot?

More key frames, less in-between animation. The art tends to focus more on looking good than having smooth and clean animation. As a result, it's beautiful, but kind of choppy. It's barely noticeable anymore though, and the pacing's slowed down, though most scenes are still lightning fast compared to other shows. This show has a lot of energy.

Can anyone explain the reflector pack?
As much as I liked it and the absorption effects were real cool, I can't help but feel it was shoehorned into the episode. I think I also heard that it wasn't originally going to be in the episode but toys happened and here we go. It doesn't help that the end of ep. 5 had belliri talking about how he's going to get to use the space backpack and then suddenly reflector pack.

So anyway, what did it even do? Absorb beams, break and...charge energy for some sort of discharge? Kind of left me confused; is it gone forever? Because it really would benefit from an explanation.

In general, I'm just wondering if it ever gets explained or it was a one-time toy thing. As it stands if (hypothetically) G-Reco gets into SRW, I don't see how the pack could be used. Which would make me sad.

See, this is weird to me, since I didn't find the pacing off at all. Honestly, of all the shows I've watched along with /m/ (every gendum and most non-toku anime since 2007), I'm enjoying this one the most. It's incredibly refreshing to have characters that don't act like actors in a play and to have the level of attention to detail that G-Reco has.

There is no announced Reflector Pack kit, so it's not because of toys. In fact, almost none of the backpacks are getting kits. There was some reworking of the episode, at least according to the twitter posts of some animators.

Remember, Bellri's technically a political prisoner aboard the Megafauna and has no input on what their doing; as for the Megafauna, they want to test out as many Rose of Hermes UC-era technologies as they can while they have access to the G-Self. Obviously, they'd rather someone else pilot it, but due to the Rayhunton code, only Raraiya, Bellri, or Aida can fly it, and one's had brain damage, and Aida's not only a terrible pilot (Klim outright states it in ep 12) but she's a VIP.

It was protecting the Montero from atmospheric reentry. The G-Self can survive re-entry by itself, but the Montero can't. It's meant to be used as a barrier for battle, I'd imagine, but Bell improvised with its use, as he always does with these backpacks that he hates.

It's not about the framerate, it's about the frames used. It's not animated at 8-12fps, it's animated on 3s and 2s and that's up to the discretion of the key animator for the cut. Often elements of a shot are animated on alternate frames too, it's not as simple as you make it out to be.
