I dislike the giant stabilizer wings too, but overall I think the KGs are way too tall and slim. If they spent more of their time hovering and skimming I could understand it, but since they act like giant infantry I think they ought to be more robust than that. The way they go CLANK CLANK CLANK when they move is cool but belies their seeming agility. They look fast, proceed to spend most of their time standing in place, and they fail to look either heavily armoured or heavily armed (it's the bullpup-sized rifle and lack of bazooka). They look like gunships and are treated like tanks.

So, personal preferences on the matter aside, what does everyone think the chances of Asseylum and Inaho being alive are?

I say 90% for Asseylum. The whole "her whereabouts are unknown" line in the epilogue is a pretty strong giveaway.

I give Inaho 60%. The only reason I put it that "low" is because it'll take a pretty big asspull for him to survive since his headshot was slightly less ambiguous than Seylum's. Aside from that, Inaho is what makes the entire Terran side of the cast (which is nearly all of the show's total cast) relevant. What are they going to do if he's dead? For that matter, what's Slaine going to do? Judging by his actions in the last ep, it seems like he's fully sided with Vers at this point. At least if Inaho's still around he'll have an opponent.

It would be pretty stupid, and mean that the writers want to have their cake and eat it too, but doing a "Game of thrones" style character killing and afterwards denying all the weight the scene had by making people not be dead.
That said, the writers are shitty enough to try it.

Honestly, given the end of this season I can see why Urobutcher disowned it so vehemently. I wouldn't want the credit for that ending either.

It was like the writer was trying to be stereotypically urobutcher (hey, lets kill off some dudes!) but without understanding why Urobutcher does it or how.

The Princess already had her "died but not really" card get played TWICE so far. The first one gets an easy pass since her having a body double is pretty reasonable, but the second one means she has used up her plot armor.
But by ending the season with her and Inaho presumed dead after on-screen bullets, the writers have put themselves in a serious pickle.

If those characters die, then the entire last season we just watched was a waste of fucking time. The characters that actually had a plan are out of the picture. Inaho on tactics and using the Princess for the endgame was the only reasonable chance of victory that the Terrens had against Vers. The Duecalion is worthless with the princess dead. Slaine doesn't even have a motivation as far as we know if she is gone, and the only villain we have to go on is only slightly more likely to be alive. So why the fuck should anyone who has been watching so far want to KEEP WATCHING enough to come back in 4 months after the break?

Worse yet, if those characters live? The writers lose any credibility they might have otherwise had. Death is meaningless and all the tricks are cheap.

It was an effective suckerpunch, sure. But they blew their load on it and now they have nothing left. They wrote themselves into a such a corner that the ONLY OPTION they have after 12 episodes is "make up a whole lotta bullshit to keep the plot going" pretty much regardless of what happens next.

ENZAI would be the comparable hentai OAV published around the same time as Boku no Pico, since that was nonstop gay prison rape with nothing but despair and uselessness. So many plotlines have been aborted halfway through that it just feels like the whole thing has been an exercise in stalling. He's so invested in bucking audience expectations that he doesn't allow himself to ever actually DO anything. If he goes for the expected Dany-saves-everyone-from-ice-zombies ending it'll just seem hollow now. The only way I can see this working out is if everyone dies and Westeros just keeps on ticking into the industrial age, and finally modernity.

Inaho is hardly an irreplaceable loss, especially when he was basically little more than an audience cipher with hardly any development or defining moments.

The only character whose death impacts the proceedings is the Princess, and even then, with the show going all 'Her whereabouts are still unknown', you can bet a decent amount that there's a strong likelihood that the show will bring her back in some dumb manner.

Is there any chance of Cruhteo coming back?
Knowing he's not a traitor kinda makes me wish he was still alive.
It would be pretty interesting to see the story's depiction of Cruhteo and Slaine get shuffled.

But the show has repeatedly shown the Terrans as completely incompetent. They can't even bring down grunt ships, they're fucking useless and their planet is pretty much conquered. Even Inaho could only reach the castle because he had Aldnoah on his ship. Without it, Earth is doomed.
