Actually in the season 2 episode"when Strikes Mutilor" They used a super engine upgrade called the "speed of heat" that allowed them to go from the surface of the planet to low orbit.

Honestly Feral was a complete moron to can T-bone and Razor considering they're fucking Geniuses on a level unmatched.
They created a three engine Tomcat, capable of VTOL flight, can go from the surface of the planet to low orbit under it's own power, can switch to an orbital mode, has internal weapon bays, and has space for a back up vehicle.

Low orbit? They made it outside of Earth's gravitational field and into space. Also the Turbokat must have had a dimensional portal as well to be able to hold things like the Turbo Mole or that hovercraft. If the thing carried conventional weaponry along with all the specialty missiles it had, it would be a true monster.

This was during one of the big 'violence on TV causes actual violence!' and Ted Turner went in front of congress and said his networks wouldn't run violent programing. So SWAT KATZ turned into a black eye for him. The real reason was because the product line wasn't coming out fast enough so Hanna Barbara was losing money (These were not cheap cartoons to make.) on the show. So it was an issue of money as to why it was ultimately cancelled and Ted Turner got an unfair portion of the blame.

But in all seriousness Swat Kats is a show that is a good pick for a reboot.
Get a decent studio behind it, keep the writing in that nice balance between being deep enough for an adult to get into it but not complicated enough to fly over the heads of kids. have some season long arc and bam I think you've got something.

I think Feral was a good/great solider. But unlike T-Bone and Razor he had to take orders from an incompetent mayor, deal with politics, and run an entire origination all with equipment made by the lowest bidder. Would have been neat to see him get fired and become a vigilante.

Man, I remember being a kid watching Swat Kats, that was my shit back in the day. Another show I was really fond of, but can't remember the name right now, was one of the WB shows that cartoon network used to show like Animaniacs and Freakazoid, but this one was were the dogs of world leaders could transform into super soldiers to fight crime and save the world. Wish I could remember, it was a really good show, but it didn't last too long either.

I still remember all the crazy non lethal or incapacitating ammo the Turbokat had, and most of it was so hilariously roundabout. For being such a violent show for it's time, even with all the explosions and collateral damage, the Swat Kats themselves were surprisingly nonviolent. I think I only remember them using straight up regular bullets like two or three times. And I know they only used regular destructive missiles a few times, because they would usually point it out. I distinctly remember the the button for it was labeled "Plain Ol' Missile".

The Swat Kats were like the exact opposite of Megas XLR, they had a million different ways to NOT blow things up.

I'd imagine that would be at least a lead into discovering who they were, just check the Swat kats abilities against a database of your top performing Ex-Enforcers. probably only like a handful of pilots who would even come close
Also an episode with the Swat Kats going against a Rival team they went back and forth with back when they were enforcers would have been awesome.

The reboot could work if it's Adult Swim. It has to be during a dry year, however, to have the budget (as good as the Thunderkats reboot) it needs to pass. The reason I say Adult Swim is it needs the freedom for the violence the original show dances around. Make one season, 12 episodes, made up of multi-episode plots that dedicate to the villians as both introduction and meaty story. Adult Swim also avoids typical young teen selling points (ie: shipping), because this show brings the 20-somethings who saw the original cartoon. Of course, this is assuming it's a TV run, it could just be an internet show, in which case alot of luck is needed. Anyway, the younger audience will see it anyway.
